Tri's and Tribulations: Wasatch Front 100 2014

http://trainingmo.blogspot.com/2015/07/wasatch-front-100-2014.html

Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Wasatch Front 100 2014. Fred advised keeping your heart rate at 60% on the first climb. Phil said to run both road sections between Lamb's and Brighton. Use a headlamp at the start. Nobody should use poles at the start. Whatever anyone tells you, what you get on the day of your goal 100 mi race is the unexpected. When I won the Wasatch 2014 lottery, but in my head I was thinking, "Finally! I win a race lottery! But was I an under 30 candidate? I felt good at the start. Nervo...

Tri's and Tribulations: February 2012

http://trainingmo.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 24, 2012. Really, one of the things I never thought I'd do. I don't like to use the word "never" because it's just too easy to be wrong. But going vegan, and giving up eating meat and anything that comes from an animal - I would have said never. Why would I do this? Welllll. you remember that sheep post. And I'm a scientist. That pretty much sealed my fate. Plus, I've already given up Coke, so how hard could giving up meat be? K and I watched " Forks over Knives. I also read RawFoodSOS.

Tri's and Tribulations: June 2012

http://trainingmo.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 11, 2012. This was my 6th Run the Caldera. And I just keep coming back. Getting to do a catered run through the caldera satisfies that urge in me to get OUT; to get away from people. Sure, there were some 80 other runners, but after mile 3, we all spread out. I didn't review the times from previous years. I didn't plan how fast to try to get up the first hill. I told everyone it was a long training day, that I was taking it easy. And I still feel like I have lots left in the tank. Even b...

Tri's and Tribulations: January 2012

http://trainingmo.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 12, 2012. What happened to the rest of 2011? But the running was still good. Better than ever, actually. Not just faster - oh, yes, I did manage to get faster - but better too. The running has been all mine again, a great outlet for joy and frustration. I PR'd my 2.5 mile handicap by a minute. I ran Run Rabbit Run 50 miler (on short notice with little specific training) and finished in 10:08. That's a 2 hour PR. Here's to more of that! I was as antsy to pace at Hardrock as I am for the ...

Bone's Blog: The things we do for fashion

http://nmoutlaws.blogspot.com/2010/03/things-we-do-for-fashion.html

Monday, March 15, 2010. The things we do for fashion. Green dress run –the things we do for fashion:. Okay, I have to admit that I’ve been looking forward to the return of the Albuquerque Road runners Green dress run since the Outlaws were invited back in January, it sounded like a lot of fun. It’s been a long time since I’ve run with the Roadrunners. And I forgot how friendly and supportive they are, plus they put on a great handicap series. Many thanks for inviting us to run! The other girl that I was ...

Bone's Blog: Beach to Battleship race report

http://nmoutlaws.blogspot.com/2009/11/beach-to-battleship-race-report.html

Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Beach to Battleship race report. About a year ago the NM Outlaws were casting about for an Ironman race to compete in for our club race. B2B won out over some very tough competition – it won mainly because of the location, time of year (weather ) and cost. North Carolina in early November is incredible! Special thanks to Debi, Margaret, Cory, Lorna, and Loraine, you guys had us organized, transported, and fully supported! A few last minute hugs, good lucks and we were off!

Musings of a Menopausal Triathlete. Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Back to my Real Job, oh wait I mean Hobby. Well, here it is June 1st, a mere 19 weeks until the big day in Kona. I know that 4 months will go by quickly, it always does unless I am on a 5 hour training ride closer to the end of the plan. Then time seems to go particularly slowly. I feel like since I am after all, training for Kona the IM World Championships,. A few running races , you know just to mix it up a bit. But alas, Kona calls! We spent t...

Musings of a Menopausal Triathlete. Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Part Three.Post Race. The End (but not really). I woke up Monday morning fully expecting to realize this had been a very long complicated Ironman dream and the race had not really taken place yet. Nope it happened, I pinched myself and H said,. Yes indeed you won. I am riding my bike home! So off we went in our street clothes, a mere few hours after IM, sore legs and all, bags in tow. By now, the rain has started to pour. Monday afternoon, we ...

Musings of a Menopausal Triathlete. Thursday, October 9, 2014. I simply lost my last start to a blog post. Oh well, wasn't meant to be? It is Thursday and I will just highlight the journey in the present. All checked in for the race. It was a quick easy process and soooo exciting! My friend Ted and I were one of the first ones in. I felt chills! Afterwards, they shuffle you into the "Ironman Souvenir Store". A good marketing strategy for sure suckers (like me). Yes, I bought stuff-of course! Went to the ...

http://nmoutlaws.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 3, 2008. Now that the brunt of the training has passed I thought I would post a little blurb on my bike and the configuration I’ve chosen for IMAZ. I’ve spend the last few years getting this bike just the way I want it. The bike was originally purchased for IMFL in ’04 but that race just never happened. Life sometimes gets in the way of the best laid plans. This will be IM number three for the bike, that is assuming I finish! From the bottom up:. Wheel set: 2006 Zip 404, 650 Clinchers&#4...

Monday, October 19, 2009. Palo Duro Trail 50k. Palo Duro 50k Trial run,. Brian first talked to me about the Palo Duro 50k right after the Socorro Chile Harvest Triathlon. I must have been high on the endorphins from having a good race and started actually thinking it was a good idea. After all, the race was several months away and I would be in “good shape” after running the Colorado Relay and all the training getting ready for the Beach to Battleship Ironman. Yeah, it sounded like fun…. The energy is lo...

Bone's Blog: August 2010

http://nmoutlaws.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, August 26, 2010. Crewing and Pacing at Leaville 100. Last year when my friend, Margaret. Said she put her name on the napkin to run the Leadville 100 mile race I immediately asked her if I could crew or pace her. As an endurance junkie I have done some crazy things but never have I considered doing a 100 mile run, and a hard 100 mile run to boot. So, it sounded like it was going to be a lot of fun. During the course of the year I found out another friend, Brian. To be continued. .

Bone's Blog: April 2009

http://nmoutlaws.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Friday, April 3, 2009. I’ve been doing the same yoga for a couple of years now and decided it was time for a change. Since I had extra time on Thursday night I decided to do a hot Vinyasa yoga class. Normally I do the Bikrams yoga once or twice per week and while it’s certainty hot and I get dehydrated it’s very doable. The Vinyasa class kicked my butt! Links to this post.
