Transplanted Alaskan

Life long Alaskan that needed a change and finding it in Wisconsin. Monday, May 6, 2013. Yucky Day, but it got better! This is what it looked like at around 9AM or so on Thursday May 2nd. Where we live we got a total snow fall of 15 inches. It knocked out the power in town for more then 12 hours, as it was a heavy wet snow and branches fell all over the lines and stuff. Being that we had now power when I got home, I couldn't cook dinner (Bummer huh? Where could 15 inches of snow go to? Drove up to Tok (K...

Transplanted Alaskan: So what is it?

http://transplantedalaskan.blogspot.com/2013/02/so-what-is-it.html

Life long Alaskan that needed a change and finding it in Wisconsin. Saturday, February 2, 2013. So what is it? Okay, some of you might think that I'm a cold hearted person but something has been bugging me for the past month or so that I hear on the radio with the Public Service Announcements/Add Council. Do we, in the U.S.A have a epidemic of starving children or do we have an epidemic of obesity in our children? Aunt Krissy, one who needs to go to bed hungry. Posted by Aunt Krissy. Its a problem of the...

Transplanted Alaskan: Grrrrrr

http://transplantedalaskan.blogspot.com/2013/02/grrrrrr.html

Life long Alaskan that needed a change and finding it in Wisconsin. Tuesday, February 12, 2013. So, the other day I'm at Wal-Mart and I buy a case of water, their Great Value brand. T.J. likes to have several bottles of water when he's working as he's not able to stop and get out of his truck and get a drink of water when he is thirsty. When did water start needing flavor enhancers? Can't water just taste, oh I don't know, like water? Posted by Aunt Krissy. February 14, 2013 at 2:28 AM. February 22, 2013...

Transplanted Alaskan: I'm baaaaack

http://transplantedalaskan.blogspot.com/2013/03/im-baaaaack.html

Life long Alaskan that needed a change and finding it in Wisconsin. Tuesday, March 19, 2013. You didn't know I was gone? Last week I was up in Alaska seeing family and friends. It was made on a short notice and I was only up there for a week. But I had lots of fun. Drove up to Tok (Kind of close to the border) to visit one of my sisters. Was cold up there. Was -26 when we went to start the truck Thursday morning. I will post some pics in a day or so. Aunt Krissy, cold in WI and AK. Posted by Aunt Krissy.

Lavender Citrus Fusion Soap | My Soapmaking Journal

https://samaradoessoap.wordpress.com/2010/03/07/lavender-citrus-fusion-soap

March 7, 2010 • 8:47 pm. Lavender Citrus Fusion Soap. It’s been so long since I’ve posted – goodness! But I have been making soap sporadically. Lately, I’ve been sticking to my mango butter/coconut oil/olive oil combo – with this combo the soap seems to not dissolve as much/be as slimy as with the olive oil/coco. oil/castor oil combo I had been using. Of course mango butter’s more expensive, but whatever, I like. It…. this is the specific combo:. 15 oz olive oil. 96 oz coconut oil. 74 oz mango butter.

Smells Like Fennel…Part 3! | My Soapmaking Journal

https://samaradoessoap.wordpress.com/2009/06/16/smells-like-fennel-part-3

June 16, 2009 • 6:56 pm. Smells Like Fennel…Part 3! So the day after I launched into my diatribe on the pitfalls of fennel scented soap, I decided to actually use one of my bars of fennel soap for the first time. And you know what? So I think we have a keeper. Of course, since mango butter is a tad pricey, I’m going to have to experiment with the ratios of oils to ensure I can produce a cost-effective bar that retains the pleasing effects of the mango butter. Flip flopping about fennel. You are commentin...
