My Adventures in Kenya. When not footing (as Kenyans call walking) or riding in Elizabeth’s Toyota RAV4, I use the services of a boda boda (bicycle), a piki piki (motorcycle), a matatu (van), or car taxi to get around Eldoret. I’ve also used a city bus to get around Nairobi. One can also use a tuk tuk to get around Eldoret, but I haven’t had the opportunity to use one. My Adventures in Kenya. The kikoy scarves/wraps that I bought at the Yaya Center market look similar to the one in this photo that I've borrowed from a kikoy retailer's website. I also want to buy a bedspread made out of kikoy cloth, but it is not sold at the Yaya Centre market, so I ventured downtown Nairobi to get one in orange, similar to the one in the photo above. My Adventures in Kenya. Although I’ve only been in Nairobi and Eldoret and surrounding areas in Kenya, I think I can safely say that Kenya is a beautiful country. The land is verdant and fertile, and flowers seem to bloom effortlessly. I can’t help but take photos of the prolific flowers here. Double bougainvilleas. Single bougainvilleas abound, but this is the first time Ive seen a double boungainvillea. In Kenya I often see Bougainvillea climbing over another tree and taking over it almost entirely.
