Thursday, March 1, 2012. One thing that Europeans do very well is Christmas Markets. Montpellier was no exception, however not on the level of those found in and around Berlin or some of the other locations I visited. This post is long overdue (as I speak, it's 20 degrees celsius/70 degrees fahrenheit, and the first of March), but that's what you get when you're off doing other things. Location: Montpellier, France. Friday, February 10, 2012. Weird Moments in France. Ment pour la vraiment bizarre soir é.

travelling mary: February 2012

http://travellingmary.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 10, 2012. Weird Moments in France. Having just passed the one-year mark for this journey, and finding myself in increasingly random situations, I decided to reflect on a few of the strangest moments in France. And here they go, in no particular order . . . Ment pour la vraiment bizarre soir é. E- Vous, les gars, êtes ridicules. I've already written about this- but it remains one of the more random situations I've been in. Cycling into Cateau Cambr é. Il était le meilleur accueil. This on...

travelling mary: September 2011

Friday, September 30, 2011. Arles: more than just my painting. So, as you've already read, I went to Arles with one thing in mind . . . to sit in my favourite painting. While there, I discovered so much more. Arles is a city with a lot of history. It has some amazing Roman monuments, the earliest of which come from the 1st century BC. While there, I was able to visit both the gladiator's arena, and the theatre. Van Gogh painted a picture of a bullfight the arena, entitled Les Arènes. To but regardless, i...

travelling mary: January 2011

Saturday, January 29, 2011. Dunedin is on the East Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It is classified as temperate, and might be considered similar to San Francisco. Weather is very changeable (remember this adjective if you ever visit and are considering what to pack); you can often have four seasons in one day. Dunedin climate, historical averages. Wind Run, kms. 1749 to 2003 (http:/ www.climate.co.nz/). Read the Dunedin City Council's Report on Dunedin and Climate Change. Now we just have to c...

travelling mary: April 2011

http://travellingmary.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 30, 2011. Onwards to Tanzania and elephants peeing. On our way there from Arusha, we went through many small villages and again I was struck by the colours and life we saw. I took fewer pictures than I'd wanted, as it always felt a little wrong (even though throughout India I was a walking photograph). We saw many different herds of elephants throughout the day- very lucky, really. The photographs that follow are just a selection of the elephant bonanza photoshoot that went on. There were...

Monday, August 18, 2008. Miss Freckles July 22, 1991 - August 4, 2008. It is with the deepest regret that we must share some terribly sad news. We have lost a very loyal and dedicated member of our family proper. On August 4th our darling little dog, Miss Freckles, arrived at the end of her life to a very dignified departure surrounded by those who loved her and who had the privilege to revel in her extraordinarily long lifetime. TravellingMarzipans | Road tripping across the USA

Road tripping across the USA. However it wasn’t too cold to hike, and our day ended up being pretty much perfect. Hoo doos in Bryce Canyon. A doorway carved in the hoo doos along Queen’s Garden Trail. Giant tree at Wall Street. The Virgin River which runs through Zion National Park. The fall colours in Zion were beautiful.
