Travels With Charleys

Thursday, July 16, 2015. This made me smile this morning. Links to this post. Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Camp starts earlier than school does, which means I can get her and the baby off to school and daycare and get to work at a reasonable hour for a change. I have been single parenting in recent days with A off doing Army stuff, so that has meant setting the alarm for early, and not going back to sleep for another half hour after it rings. Travels With Charleys: A Chance Encounter

http://www.travelswithcharleys.blogspot.com/2014/05/a-chance-encounter.html

Friday, May 30, 2014. She exclaimed (as in, How To Train Your Dragon. I had seen tiny dragon figurines at Target a couple months ago, so I figured if they were cheap enough I could buy a bunch to give to each of her classmates in a goody bag. Last night, I made the trek and found them in the toy aisle right away. I practically emptied Target out of those dragons. Mama-guilt-meets-American-consumerism at its finest hour. You know where this is going.). Annoyed) Because you're buying a bunch of boys' toys.

Travels With Charleys: Good-bye, My Friend

http://www.travelswithcharleys.blogspot.com/2015/04/good-bye-my-friend.html

Thursday, April 23, 2015. Good-bye, My Friend. Last week I lost a dear friend to a horrific crime. My heart won't stop breaking and I'm not sure what to do or how to move on. I wish I could have saved you, and I wish I had the chance to see you, to hug you, to love you just one more time. I hope you know how incredibly special you are to me, and how much I cherish our friendship. I can't say good-bye to you.not yet. Just love, love, love.for my beautiful friend. Travels With Charleys: September 2013

http://www.travelswithcharleys.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 24, 2013. There is nothing like the little quakes of life forming inside your womb to wake you up during the night, or to wake you up from the defeatist position you might take on things. This little one is so active.has been since 12 weeks, which most people (except my midwives) say is impossible, but I know what I've been feeling. I thought B was an active fetus, but this one is persistent and demands attention. I love it. Links to this post. Monday, September 16, 2013. My family has...

Travels With Charleys: Sanctuary

http://www.travelswithcharleys.blogspot.com/2015/05/sanctuary.html

Wednesday, May 6, 2015. I had a hard time coming up with a title for this post. Nothing quite seems to capture what I want to say. So I decided to just start writing and I'd let the title come to me as I type. There is joy, too. There is the love that my family and close friends have expressed. The love that knows not to ask too many questions, or to let me talk in my own due time. The love that makes getting through another day bearable. And I just found the title to this post. May 6, 2015 at 12:16 PM.

Some of you who know me may recall that we've been remodeling our house since before any of us were born. We've poured a driveway, torn down a shed, built . All we need is amor. Travels with Charley

This blog is a record of the places, events and people encountered in my travels across Australia and South East Asia. Saturday, August 27, 2011. Banteay Srei, Kbal Spean and the Cambodian countryside. Continuing on with the tuk tuk, we headed to Banteay Srei, 32 kilometers from Siem Reap. The 10th century temple is renowned for its elaborate carvings which extensively cover almost every inch of the complex, supposedly some of the finest on Earth(at the very least, finest Angkorian). Farming was, and sti...

Travels with Charley, Part 2

During the summer of 2003, Charley and I took a road trip across the United States and Mexico. We left St. Louis on June 29th and returned on September 12th. So, are we nuts? For a dog and a guy, Charley and I are actually pretty normal. He is a very intelligent, intensely curious 7 month old Golden Retriever puppy. I am a Missouri businessman. We both love life, people, and just about everything else but cats. May your own adventure be exciting, rewarding, and cat-free. Cheers! John T. and Charley.

Travels with Charley

Saturday, March 6, 2010. The Battle of Spaghettisburg," or, "The Miracle at Funkirk," A Ballad. Wow Iwow. Just looked at this here blog, and realized that the last post is from February 18th. Zen Traveler

Friday, September 28, 2007. Such is the modern way. I would be remiss if I didn't mention my recent life changes - this doesn't come under the category of "travels" but it has certainly been an adventure, and it will have a huge impact on future travels. One year ago this week I took a leave of absence from my medical device development work at www.vapore.com. For details), and even taught sewing classes (yet another blog. Of mine, and an odd story - I don't really know how to sew! And it is a beautiful ...
