She tries not to drown! Sunday, July 30, 2006. 2006 Bucker Mission Man Race Report. The morning of the race, Randy woke me up at 4:30am. Turns out he was too nervous to sleep and got out of bed at 4:15. I was nervous too, but sure wasn't having any problem sleeping! I'd packed everything up the night before, so after a quick breakfast of an english muffin with peanut butter, we were ready. And having your fiance document the trip to the porta-potty certainly helps keep you humble! I'd thought about the t...

The life and times of a triathlete in training. Sunday, April 30, 2006. Panic set in. What if the plantar f. comes back because I'm wearing an uncomfortable shoe? I wore them around the house."Dammit! Why didn't I just stick to my tried and true shoe? I knew I had to take them back. So today I shamefully went back to the store, white bag in hand. Sales Associate: "Can I help you? Me: "Hi, I'd like to exchange a pair of shoes I bought on Thursday.". SA: Knowingly kids, "Ah ha! Me: "Yeah, " I shrug. I just...

The life and times of a triathlete in training. Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Where have I been? Oh, don't be fooled by the post; I've been here. I just haven't been blogging. Long story short I realized that I probably shouldn't be blogging from work and by the time I get home I don't feel like looking at a computer another minute. BUT.now I'm back. Why? Do I really have interesting stories to tell? Fun pictures to look at? I guess only time will tell and you'll have to be the judge of that. Not Born to Run.

Miss Jenny Trains: May 2006
http://missjennytrains.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
She tries not to drown! Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Funny how floating around on a cloud of love makes one completely forget about training. I've been a little bit lazy the last week or two, not really forcing myself to stick to any training schedule, but doing what I feel like, when I feel like it. Generally, it works out pretty well and I end up doing swimming, biking, running twice a week each, which is where I want to be. Randy and I are headed up to the mountains this weekend for a belated four-year anni...

" - Ron Suskind. Posted by Stephanie at 11:31 AM. Monday, June 26, 2006. Weather is a scary thing. Are indoor pools really at risk during thunderstorms? She tries not to drown! Wednesday, June 21, 2006. On the Open Water. I'm proud to announce that, when it comes to open water swimming, I no longer have to suffer with the fear of the unknown. Now I get the joy and excitement of knowing exactly what I'm scared of. Not exactly the amazing progress I'd hoped for, but hey, like they say, better the devil I know than the devil I don't. I guess. Finally we got to the deep water and it was time for me to start swimming. After months of preparing and swimming po...
