Ally B...that's Me!: March 2014
http://allybthatsme.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Ally B.that's Me! Fiber Arts, Family and LittleDog. Friday, March 14, 2014. I knit another hat. And the model was so stinking cute I can hardly stand it. What do you think? This project is one of those that everyone wants one. I'm making slow progress on a baby blanket with a Dragon Skin stitch pattern. LittleDog had a trip to the vet to see about a UTI and is doing much better a couple days into the ridiculously expensive antibiotics. And in a gathering at Natural Suburbia. Thanks for stopping in. I'm r...

Ally B.that's Me! Fiber Arts, Family and LittleDog. Friday, January 30, 2015. So much to talk about. I know it's been a while since I've written but there was this thing and then another thing and before I knew what was happening it just totally got away from me. Regardless, I haven't forgotten that some folks like to check up on me so here goes. If you enjoy this post you might be interested in others on the Fiber Arts Friday. There has been a lot of knitting. Basic socks for The Saint (size 13!

Ally B.that's Me! Fiber Arts, Family and LittleDog. Friday, January 10, 2014. I've got some catching up to do. Whoa, it's been a while since I posted here. Seems as though Spinzilla must have killed me. No, not exactly, but it was a near death experience for my shoulder. How've you all been? I need to get out and do some blog visiting this weekend. Judging by the weather forecast I should have plenty of time to do it. Rain on all this snow is going to make for some rough travel this weekend. We've been t...

Ally B...that's Me!: February 2014
http://allybthatsme.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Ally B.that's Me! Fiber Arts, Family and LittleDog. Friday, February 28, 2014. With a little encouragement. I'm putting this post together. Thanks Vivian for giving me a push. I think that since I post pics of the stuff I'm working on over on FB and Instagram that you'll all be tired of seeing my stuff. True? Please let me know if you still like to see it here. He decided he needed to guard the pile-o-socks that was waiting to go in the laundry. Would you attempt to take a sock from this dog? Simple temp...

As Sweet
http://smellassweet.blogspot.com/2008/03/gifted-very-dear-friend-recently-sent.html
Wednesday, March 19, 2008. A very dear friend recently sent me a real treasure of a gift. It is a baby name book that was published in 1953 with an original publication date of 1946 ("What to Name the Baby" by Evelyn Wells). I've been thumbing through it ever since and delighted to happen upon names that I've never seen before. Acca - the name of the foster mother of Romulus and Remus. Azalais - a Provencal form of Alice. Ailive - meaning "elf darling". Alula May Huggins or something? Time to read the B's.

The Perfect Day - watching a movie or listening to a book, sipping tea, and KNITTING! Monday, February 21, 2011. Present for a Friend. One of my oldest and dearest friend's birthday is tomorrow. This weekend I was walking through the Stitches West market looking for something she would like. She doesn't do any fiber arts, so I was looking at all the other type booths. I had passed the Buttons! Nancy Weber helped be pick out these buttons. And I made this. Sunday, February 20, 2011. She was nasty, rude an...

Tuesday, October 31, 2006. The Case Against Junior. I'm not a fan of Junior. Here's why:. 1) Two people, one house, one name. Confusing. There are plenty of names to go around. They're completely free so there's no need to economize. 2) Two people, one house, one name. Nicknames! Big Jim and Little Jim. Old Susan and Young Susan. You want to be big and old or little and young? 4) This is my son, Junior. This is my other son, What's-His-Face. 5) This is my son, Junior. This is my daughter, the Girl. A sco...

Thursday, April 30, 2009. Whenever I point the camera at Starsky he jumps right up to it. Not sure if he wants to lick it or what. Hutch will normally pose for me. I got a huge pile of black hair from Starsky. If you haven't went out and bought a Furminator yet, go get it. I cannot believe how well it works. Not sure what is going on right now but Starsky has started eating Hutch's food again. He used to do that all the time. Boy does Hutch get mad, he barks, yipes and chases Starsky around. I got mine o...

Knit and Bead Times: August 2009
http://knitandbeadtimes.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Knit and Bead Times. Adventures in travel, knitting, beading, and retirement. Monday, August 17, 2009. New York's Bead District. Dateline: New York, 7/16/09 - 7/28/09. I didn't actually buy anything at M&J Trimming. But I was fascinated by browsing there. They have some beads, and an incredible inventory of sequins, ribbons, rhinestones, etc. I imagine that this store is frequented by fashion designers and people creating costumes for Broadway shows. Which is a fantastic store for beadweavers like us....

Knitting Diva: I tried something new!
http://knitdragon.blogspot.com/2011/07/i-tried-something-new.html
The Perfect Day - watching a movie or listening to a book, sipping tea, and KNITTING! Thursday, July 14, 2011. I tried something new! One of the dance weekends David and I go to is Balance the Bay in San Francisco. This year's theme is polka-dots. It was easy for me to find something to wear, but I looked and looked for something for David and couldn't even find a vest at Goodwill that I could decorate. So I took today off, was all alone in the house and did nothing but work on the vest. OK this was the ...
