BearFoot Gypsy: October 2014
http://barefootedgypsy.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 16, 2014. Baguette it or not. And then there was land. Lots and lots of land. Too much land in fact. We wanted to see it all (but couldn't. obviously.). It's hard to think back to two months ago when we finally washed up in Marquesas exhausted, filthy, skinny and caffeine deprived. but we finally pulled ourselves together. We ventured ashore and gathered fresh baguettes. The captain found a razor and then beer and pan eu chocolat found us. We made new friends to hang out with! Although ...

BearFoot Gypsy: The Real World Can Be Good For You
http://barefootedgypsy.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-real-world-can-be-good-for-you.html
Sunday, March 15, 2015. The Real World Can Be Good For You. Thirty. Broke. Unemployed. Single. it's not quite what I pictured. but man was I loving life! It was a big step, but after three years of flightlessly travelling towards Spain, I decided to take a break and jumped on a plane headed back to where I'd started - back to Australia - with only a large smelly bear to my name. Fortunately I knew exactly where I was headed. I became the proud haver of my own bedroom for the first time in years. And whil...

BearFoot Gypsy: December 2013
http://barefootedgypsy.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 30, 2013. Twas The Night Before Christmas. Twas the night before Christmas and all through the boat not a creature was bleating, not even a goat. Best Christmas tree in the world). On Christmas Eve, while the rest of the world was waiting for Santa, we got whole lot more than we bargained for! First it started to drizzle and then it began to pour and then people stared chasing their beds down the road as they floated out of their houses. It doesn't matter if you didn't get anything for C...

BearFoot Gypsy: April 2015

Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Hitching: The Power of Thumb. Ever wonder what kind of people pick up hitch hikers? Yes, they gave me a ride. Well, 500 hitch hikes later, on 6 continents, I'm still trying to work that out! But I can tell you this - most of them are good! Most of them won't rape you, murder you, or sell your kidneys and spleen. Although, if you have ANY doubt at all DON'T get in the vehicle! Most of them have something to teach you. Generally people appreciate the company. You can go ANYWHERE!

BearFoot Gypsy: September 2013
http://barefootedgypsy.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Return of the Gypsy. Yes, it’ the sequel… It’s time to finish what was started…My old friend, Unemployment, has returned to me and it’s now or never (so obviously it’s now). Soccer World Cup, RSA, 2010. World's dirtiest travelling bear at "birth" and 6 months. Cycling across South Eat Asia. We built, we sailed, we shipwrecked. My former crew aboard S/V Fiddler. I’ve packed up my life, said some goodbyes, had a most amazing Braai Day in Summerset West, and tonight I ju...

BearFoot Gypsy: March 2014

Saturday, March 29, 2014. Rough Riding the Bluest Oceans. Our pilot boat chugged in at 7 am. Having engine problems and a dodgy outboard has some limitations when reversing out of a dock. Yes, Yoldia was small enough to take for a walk, but we couldn’t walk on water [yet]. Our special services tug boat service courtesy of captain Kirk. We think it was tuna. We know it tasted great. Strange sleeping habits of the captain. Strange eating habits of the captain: caviar on everything. While we may have missed...

BearFoot Gypsy: April 2014
http://barefootedgypsy.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Once upon a time there was a little boat of epicness. 27 feet of pure awesomeness. Her name was Yoldia. Yoldia needed a lot of work. So for almost a month we did nothing but work on her. Then one day we decided that she was ready for the Pacific. We just had to get her through the Panama canal. To cross the canal you need 7 things:. 1) An engine that can make 5 knots. 2) A crew of 5. 5) Bottled water for the pilot/ advisor. 6) Hot meals and snacks for the advisor man. I was abo...

Thursday, January 15, 2015. New Zealand - Held Captive Against my Will. New Zealand, the picturesque setting of the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit. a land of beautiful mountains, picturesque waters, crazy adventures and prison. A 3 year reunion with former yacht-sinking desert-island marooning legend Helena. Http:/ barefootedgypsy.blogspot.co.nz/2012/08/shipwrecked-marooned-destined-for.html. New Zealand kicked off brilliantly - there were amazing people to catch up with and phenomenal things to see.

BearFoot Gypsy: November 2013
http://barefootedgypsy.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 18, 2013. Pirates, and we´re not even in the Carribean. When I was little I always wanted to be a pirate and go around commandeering tea and cake. I wish all pirates were that cool. So we (Three saffas, an Aussie, and the infamous bear) spent a whole month bobbing up and down in the Atlantic on our trusty vessel Nereid. We stopped only twice to sample some local beer and stretch our lazy bodies and lick things. Teddy doing the spread eagle stretch. And then finally we saw real land again...
