Trobairitz' Tablet: October 2014

http://trobairitztablet.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 22, 2014. This post dates back into August, but I still wanted to share. On August 29th, on one of our trips to Portland to check out off-road boots, we decided to take the long way home via Tillamook. The reason for the longer route was to stop at the Tillamook Forest Center. To see if they had a particular map available. Tillamook Forest Center is B on the map above). We managed to arrive by 4 pm, one hour before closing. Just one hour - not enough time. The first thing we did was wa...

Trobairitz' Tablet: Alive and Kicking......

http://trobairitztablet.blogspot.com/2015/07/alive-and-kicking.html

Thursday, July 30, 2015. It has been a few weeks since I've posted so I thought it best to put up a little something. We are still alive and kicking. Although with today's high temperature forecast to be 106˚F (41.1˚C) we are doing a lot less kicking. Right now it is too damn hot to do much of anything. We had plans to load up the bikes for an overnight trip to the south coast one Saturday morning. The plan was to meet RichardM. Right now, the forests in Oregon are so tinder dry that we are hesitant of d...

Trobairitz' Tablet: Off the Grid

http://trobairitztablet.blogspot.com/2015/05/off-grid.html

Wednesday, May 20, 2015. I apologize for being behind in my blog reading, but we have been off the grid and plugged into nature. And I left Friday morning and headed to Kalaloch Campground. On the west-side of the Olympic Peninsula. While I don't have time for a full report I will tease you with a few photos. I'll do a full post in a few days. View from our campsite A-18, Kalaloch Campground). We went for a nature walk in the rainforest). We walked south on the beach towards the Lodge). The weather was a...

Trobairitz' Tablet: Little of This, Little of That

http://trobairitztablet.blogspot.com/2015/05/little-of-this-little-of-that.html

Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Little of This, Little of That. MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDE - MAY 1, 2015. Last Friday I was off work at noon so Troubadour. And I decided to go for a mountain bike ride in the afternoon. How could we resist when temperatures were in the mid 70's. We are lucky that minutes from our house are some great riding/hiking trails in Fitton Green. While I didn't get any pictures of the bikes, or us, I did manage a panoramic of the valley as well as a shot of the wild irises that are blooming. 1912 S...

November 2014 ~ Rude Biker Chick

http://www.sashmouth.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 20, 2014. Family and Commuting in San Diego. Thursday, November 20, 2014. I feel like I've neglected my blog lately. It's been a very busy few weeks, and the only motorcycle riding I've done is back and forth from San Diego, CA to Menifee, CA where my home is. And her husband David (yes we have 2 Davids! Is the tall guy in the back. We had a fantastic visit and the girls got to spend some quality "Mommy Time" together. We went to Long Beach to see Alonzo Bodden. So I'm getting plenty o...

My 10 Favorite Cites - Part 2 ~ Rude Biker Chick

http://www.sashmouth.com/2015/06/my-10-favorite-cites-part-2.html

Friday, June 26, 2015. My 10 Favorite Cites - Part 2. Friday, June 26, 2015. The ride from Colorado to Utah was quite cold, even though it was August. My furry vest I purchased in Wall, SD came in quite handy. One of my favorite things about riding is buying cool items that I will put to use which can only be found in specific regions. This is my second installment of this list, and they are listed in no particular order. Certainly one must visit mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Monument. Rapid Cit...

September 2014 ~ Rude Biker Chick

http://www.sashmouth.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 30, 2014. The Road is My Home. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. With Joe and Diane for Steve's Birthday Pub Crawl. Living the life of a motorcycle bohemian is wonderful, except I hate saying goodbye. I've never really done it well and simply avoided situations my entire life where I must say it. You're taking it too personal! Grumpy, Biggus and Steve were trying to talk me out of it last week. I never feel that way when I travel.". You just need to detach a little. . . ". As they spoke I d...

Sunday, April 26, 2015. The High Price of the Road. Sunday, April 26, 2015. While you're out riding your motorcycle around the country, you're not getting to know your own grandson. He's afraid of you! I'm not saying you're a bad grandmother, but. . . ". With those words, my daughter broke my heart. As she sat in my hotel room with my young grandson in her arms, she spewed her pain of being a new mother, blaming me for not giving her enough support. My daughter Olivia and my grandson Jackson. October 2014 ~ Rude Biker Chick

http://www.sashmouth.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 20, 2014. Monday, October 20, 2014. If we didn't run a business, we possibly would go completely off the radar, disappearing completely, and wander off down some dusty trail, never to be seen or heard from again. Both Steve and I crave independence, a lack of obligation, a lack of responsibility, and a complete absence of reality. Why are we this way? Because it's a wonderful way to live. How can life get any better than this? In the meantime, we still run our business. As writers, I imag...

Thursday, February 19, 2015. Motorcycle Vagabonds Ride Another Road Pickle. Thursday, February 19, 2015. Our Road Pickle 3 Map for 2015. It's a rough outline, but these are stops we hope to make. The downside to being motorcycle vagabonds is that after a few months in one place, we become stir crazy. Many people would wonder how two people would want to leave a city as beautiful as San Diego, but once you get that touring in your blood, it's pretty addictive. While we are there! After Colorado we'll be m...

Saturday, March 14, 2015. Day of Motorcycle Riding. Saturday, March 14, 2015. The Indian Scout in front of the USAF Bone Yard at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ. Riding my motorcycle always clears my head, but riding all afternoon alone did much more than that. But after working 5 hours, I was ready to get off my ass. The sun was shining and I just knew the temps were in the 80's. I had heard about 2nd Saturdays. So today was my effort to walk away. My little inner voice whispered. I turned my handlebars...

Trobairitz' Table d'hote

A motorcyclist's Adventures with Vegan Cuisine. Tuesday, July 7, 2015. The first time I'd ever had Fatoush. Was a few years ago at a Mediterranean restaurant in Coos Bay. Since then I've had it a few times locally. The last time wasn't very good. The pita pieces were deep fried, there was too much oil in the dressing, and my side order of falafels were also deep fried. For someone who doesn't use very much oil, it was not good. 1 head of Romaine Lettuce. Or 15 Hearts of Romaine. 1/2 Long English Cucumber.
