Cloth-n-Clay: March 2014

Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Three days till Spring. Do you think Mother Nature has the date on her calendar? Anna M. Branner. Friday, March 14, 2014. In Like a Lion! Lots of distractions still going on here in Fredericksburg. But the sewer line is fixed. (We hope.) The city rescheduled FOUR times. So I loaded a bisque this week. I absolutely love my hollow core shelves. SO much lighter and easier to load then the solid ones. You will notice I don't do a lot of stacking. I don't like to put too much pres...

days with clay: December 2009
http://heidihaugenpottery.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Guests in the shop. I often throw out an invitation to those people who express an interest in making something out of clay. not necessarily coming up for "lessons".just a simple project they had in mind. Instead of using my stamps/texture objects.she borrowed my lino cutter and picked up some pink erasers and after querying her friends about their 'spirit animals' proceeded to carve a load of beautiful rubber stamps. Heidi haugen: days with clay. I also notice that the stacks of misc. in the house g...

Alan From Argyll Pottery: Foot Wedging of Sorts.
http://alanfromargyllpottery.blogspot.com/2008/09/foot-wedging-of-sorts.html
Alan From Argyll Pottery. It should be what I'm doing at work most of the time but it may meander in to other stuff from time to time. Tuesday, 2 September 2008. Foot Wedging of Sorts. I thought we had some campers from the USA and the Russian steps as neighbours but it was just a SPA (No not an out post of the Scottish Potters Association a SPA - you know massage, incense and Lama Chanting going on, all that new age hippy stuff). Did get to see great stuff like Elbow,. Just a bit surreal. Gold Frapp was...

Ben Stark Pottery: Mmmmm...The other white meat!
http://starkspots.blogspot.com/2010/02/mmmmmthe-other-white-meat.html
Sunday, February 28, 2010. MmmmmThe other white meat! Yesterday, I grilled a pork loin roast, and it was AWESOME! This was the first time that I successfully grilled something 'low and slow' (don't ask about the ribs I did a little while back) and I'm finally getting the hang of it. All that I used was a dry rub and seared it, then grilled it over indirect heat for about 2-1/2 hrs. Super juicy and it melted in the mouth! Leftovers for lunch today :). Genevieve got a little car (thanks aunt Addie!

Ben Stark Pottery: February 2009

Thursday, February 26, 2009. These are my new favorite things! I have always wanted to. Make a dropped lid (not sure if that's the correct term), but had never made the time to experiment. Trimming was always the part that befuddled me, but a while back fetishghost. Posted his technique on throwing and trimming lids and it made everything so clear! By the way, it worked really, really well! Well, I've run out of things to say! Saturday, February 21, 2009. I just finished reading Brandon's blog. In firing...
