Through My Eyes: A Day in Val David
http://susanvg2009.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-day-in-val-david.html
Books I Have Read. Friday, August 7, 2015. A Day in Val David. I love pottery, so a visit to 1001 Pots. Is always a treat. I managed to resist most of the creations, though I did leave with one new mug. Then off for a walk. There is a long park ( le parc linéaire: le petit train du nord. Raspberries hung from the low bushes. I left them for someone else to pick. I have been enjoying my fill from the market. Such a great time of year for local produce! August 30, 2015 at 7:00 PM. I love pottery, too. ...
Through My Eyes: Festival Montréal Baroque
http://susanvg2009.blogspot.com/2015/08/festival-montreal-baroque.html
Books I Have Read. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Looking back to the end of June. Festival Montréal Baroque. A highlight of my year is always the Montreal Baroque Festival - a few days of frenzied concert-going with friends - friends from Toronto and friends of the many musicians who teach at CAMMAC. The directors, Susie Napper and Matthias Maute, always plan a wide array of interesting concerts. And delectable morsels to sample after the concert. Watching the masters and marvelling at the up and coming.
Through My Eyes: October 2014
http://susanvg2009.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Books I Have Read. Friday, October 31, 2014. Some pumpkins come with personality. Others are given a personality. Here are a few shots of pumpkins in my neighbourhood. Happy Hallowe'en. Links to this post. Tuesday, October 21, 2014. I was challenged on Facebook to shoot in black and white for 5 days running. This is one of my shots. It encouraged me to go out and think differently about my subjects - what would stand out without the benefit of colour. I needed to look at contrast and textures. I'll have ...
Through My Eyes: Apr 2/10 Beginnings and Endings
http://susanvg2009.blogspot.com/2010/04/apr-210-beginnings-and-endings.html
Books I Have Read. Friday, April 2, 2010. Apr 2/10 Beginnings and Endings. Apr 2/10 Beginnings and Endings. Originally uploaded by susanvg. Spring brings rebirth as nature wakes up. Today also brought the death of my late husband's mother. She was one month short of her 102nd birthday, long past her "best before" date. Her stubborn and tenacious attitude kept her alive. I have written about her before. April 4, 2010 at 1:13 AM. Oh goodness- I just wrote a comment for you and lost it. The changes this wom...
Through My Eyes: Mural Festival 2015
http://susanvg2009.blogspot.com/2015/06/mural-festival-2015.html
Books I Have Read. Monday, June 15, 2015. Photos: June 14, 2015. This is the third year that Montreal is holding a mural festival. St. Laurent, one of our major arteries has been closed for 11 days for several blocks with a combination muralfest, street festival and Fringe Festival. Some of the murals from previous years are still visible; others have been painted over. We did come across this work in progress. In the background is another mural. June 16, 2015 at 12:52 AM. Through My Eyes: December 2014
http://susanvg2009.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Books I Have Read. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. This time of year, bushes, posts, hydrants, fences all sport single mittens and gloves. Ah, the frustration of getting home only to discover that one mitten is missing. I hope this twosome find their partners. At least, for now, they have each other! Links to this post. Wednesday, December 24, 2014. The days are starting to get longer. Links to this post. Saturday, December 6, 2014. Refuge Faunique Marguerite-D'Youville in December. This cardinal watched w...
Through My Eyes: No Respect
http://susanvg2009.blogspot.com/2015/06/no-respect.html
Books I Have Read. Friday, June 12, 2015. As anyone who reads my blog knows, I love public art. This sculpture attracted my attention when I first saw it. I featured it here. Now it is defaced by a tagger who has no respect for the work of others. I am outraged by this attitude. And it is prevalent - whether it is defacing other people's art work or defacing buildings taggers destroy. In contrast are murals by street artists - that is something to celebrate. Through My Eyes: November 2014
http://susanvg2009.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Books I Have Read. Sunday, November 30, 2014. The scene is changing at Atwater Market. Where once there were flats of flowers, followed by pumpkins, now there are trees springing up and these odd creatures. It is the invasion of the wooden reindeer - a large herd of them. This year a large moose looks over the area. I'm not sure what its relation is to Christmas. Trees of every size wait for the right customer to bring them home. Links to this post. Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Links to this post. Life an...
Through My Eyes: Spring in a Rush
http://susanvg2009.blogspot.com/2015/05/spring-in-rush.html
Books I Have Read. Monday, May 11, 2015. Spring in a Rush. No time here for spring - it happens in a rush. Our temperatures jump around in so-called spring with days of summer-like weather interspersed with cooler spring temperatures. A week of "summer" has jolted all the flowers and leaves to grow at once. Tulips share the stage with daffodils, primroses and all sorts of spring blooms. Magnolias bloomed and dropped within a week. What a pleasure to see the plethora of colours after the white of winter.
Through My Eyes: January 2015
http://susanvg2009.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Books I Have Read. Monday, January 26, 2015. Walking, I saw this animal struggling to free itself from the snow. Or so it seemed. Fallen trees like a carefully constructed construction. Stairways for the forest - leading up the nearby trunks. New uses for old trees. Keep your eyes open in the forest. You never know what you will see. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
