Indicated, I brewed more belgian style beer on Sunday morning. 10 gallons of what was supposed to be a somewhat mild brew that could support 3 or 4 in an evening without dropping the hammer. and it didn't turn out that way. Online journal of my homebrewing fun. So, it has been a while since my last post. And since then, a lot has happened. To take a look. Afterwards, I went to Garrett's house and met his family and toured his little brewery. His wife is very nice and his kids are adorable. And I am sure Shell would like their cats. ICK! And the Unibroue yeast strain (Wyeast 3864) so it should turn out pretty good, and different than anything else I've brewed to date. Well, I was definitely correct when I said that the yeast were performing admirably. They blew out my airlock yesterday! The airlock was still in place, but it was totally gummed up and full of yeast. I sanitized a new stopper and airlock, replaced it, and knocked the kraeusen down by swirling the carboy liquid.
