Marscat: surviving kidney failure
http://marscat.blogspot.com/2009/07/surviving-kidney-failure.html
Tuesday, July 07, 2009. I was seated in conference room 200 along with about sixty other employees, listening to the directors explain why they needed to lay off 27 people on Monday. Fortunately, I was not one of them. More workers showed up at the entrance to the room and were spilling out into the hallway. The CIO waved for them to come in and take the few still empty seats up front. I promise you won't be laid off if you sit in the front row," he laughed. What on earth does that mean, I asked myself?

Marscat: June 2008
http://marscat.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 25, 2008. While the presenter and the organizer and the guy from the front row. Fiddle with the projector,. A big woman in a small metal chair. Holds a slice of pizza. It hangs limp and sweaty. Like a tired dog's tongue. Lodged on her chest. Rides the wave of her contented. I am pretty certain. She'll be the first to bolt. Once the pizza's eaten. I am putting on my best show. Loading up my paper pad balanced on my knees. With chunks of wisdom, sage cutlets. It will not clap. There is only...

Marscat: November 2011
http://marscat.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 15, 2011. After dinner last Wednesday evening. I walked over to Sproul. So I was sitting there at the Occupy Cal demonstration, nodding. Hall She started mentioning the Sixties, but I didn't know if she was mentioning them from personal experience or just as a historical perspective, like how I might talk about the Russian Revolution although I've not personally. Were you here at Sproul. Protesting in the Sixties. And then because we were close to being the oldest, poorest dressers at t...

Alz Junkyard: No Vacancy
http://alzjunkyard.blogspot.com/2010/07/no-vacancy.html
Friday, July 2, 2010. For some reason, I only pictured the day some creature moved into the owl box as a joyfully happy one. I kinda thought we might have a party, maybe even invite some rats for dinner. I clearly did not fully imagine all the tenant possibilities. Anyone want any bees? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Alz Junkyard: Summer Break: Then and Now
http://alzjunkyard.blogspot.com/2011/06/summer-break-then-and-now.html
Sunday, June 19, 2011. Summer Break: Then and Now. Since I always like to hear about what my friends are doing to make their lives more interesting, then I guess it is only fair I write about what I am doing to my my own life more interesting. Man, this is just so sad. Remember when you were a kid and summer vacation held all the promise in the world? It was like warmth and freedom and bare feet and chlorine all wrapped into one glorious event that took. Labels: our busy life. Just talkin' to myself.

Alz Junkyard: Grand Plié
http://alzjunkyard.blogspot.com/2011/02/grand-plie.html
Tuesday, February 15, 2011. Now here I am, four weeks into the class. I’ve been working hard, lots of sweating. The teacher is the company principal - Russian accent and all. I was starting to think this wasn’t as funny as it is really really good for me. A pint of Ben and Jerry’s later and I’m ready to dig into the meat of what the heck happened tonight. Why did I let myself be shaken so badly? I don’t think so. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Just talkin' to myself. View my complete profile.

Alz Junkyard: My (Other) Important Child
http://alzjunkyard.blogspot.com/2011/09/my-other-important-child.html
Monday, September 19, 2011. My (Other) Important Child. The important thing about our child is that he loves his family. It is true that he is energetic and independent. He can kick a soccer ball in the sun or play chess for fun. He pets the cats - imagine that! He skis in the snow and surfs with his bro. He likes to make sweets and good things to eat. An he is quick like a bug to enjoy a group hug. But the important thing about our child is that he loves his family. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
