Not Siberia

Just an American girl living in a Serbian world. Thursday, December 6, 2012. Here it is, the last adventure while Kyle was an 8 year old. It was a very big deal to him. A very important milestone for sure. Next adventure, I'll be with a brand new 9 year old. The "proof that he was there" photo. We were cautiously optimistic about how delicious they might be. Verdict: fries were good, sauce was debatable. Monday, December 3, 2012. I also made myself a t.rex costume. It was fabulously realistic. We also ha...

Not Siberia: So I was wrong.

http://twoyearseast.blogspot.com/2012/12/so-i-was-wrong.html

Just an American girl living in a Serbian world. Sunday, December 2, 2012. So I was wrong. My mom has always told me that I need to fess up when I get things wrong. Especially since I'm so fond of getting things right. Last October (as in, 2011), I wrote a post about questions I had received regarding Serbian life. Question number three was "Are there vampires in Serbia? I incorrectly answered "No.". For those of you that are are a little link shy, let me give you some highlights. So, sorry about that gu...

Not Siberia: May 2012

http://twoyearseast.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Just an American girl living in a Serbian world. Tuesday, May 8, 2012. That Serbia is the only country with funky ridiculous signs. Spotted at the Hungarian border crossing. This photo is in honor of my upcoming trip home (I'll be flying out of Hungary instead of Serbia) and thanks to my good friend Ryan (who happens to have a photoshop free trial). Thieves will slash your tires and while you're changing them they will steal your things? Car maintenance makes you a target for Zorro look alikes? This is a...

Not Siberia: June 2012

http://twoyearseast.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Just an American girl living in a Serbian world. Tuesday, June 19, 2012. This is what Kristina/Amy/Budapest look like at 6am. These are some of the best photos from the trip, but you can see all of them here: https:/ www.facebook.com/media/set/? I'm once again confused by the signage. Shocker. Is this offensively saying that only black hands aren't allowed to touch? Or maybe it is emphasizing the fact that you shouldn't touch men with unibrows. Ultimately unclear instructions. This is in honor of Kristin...

Hepners Blog: Heart Thoughts

http://hepnersblog.blogspot.com/2015/02/heart-thoughts.html

Monday, February 9, 2015. One week ago today, at this exact same time, I was sitting in the pre-op room waiting for the nurses to come and take my son to surgery. I am so thankful that last week is over.so thankful that we are where we are today.so thankful for God's goodness and provision and love. Dayne went to church yesterday! It was amazing to watch him! He is sore this morning, but still has such a positive attitude! However, we can do ALL things through HIM who gives us strength (Phil. 4:13).

Hepners Blog: Happy Mother's Day!

http://hepnersblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/happy-mothers-day.html

Sunday, May 10, 2015. Being a Mother is the greatest honor that I have ever been bestowed. To be able to give life and watch it grow, shepard and nourish little souls.it doesn't get better than that! It is the hardest things I've ever done, and the most fulfilling all at once. Children see your love and all your flaws all at once. I pray they grow up to think that I didn't mess up too bad. It's humbling, exausting, and the most wonderful thing in the world! I love being a Mama! Bubba- The Big Brother.

Hepners Blog: The rest of today

http://hepnersblog.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-rest-of-today.html

Friday, February 6, 2015. The rest of today. They took him off the morphine pump early this Morning, and while he had a rough morning, he was better and better as the day went on! We walked all around, ate at the food court, and sat in recliners for most of the day! He took a shower this evening and visited with some great friends! The pain seems to be under control and he is more himself now that he is off the morphine! I am so proud of him! He should be coming home tomorrow! It has meant so much!

http://hepnersblog.blogspot.com/2015/06/happy-fathers-day.html

Sunday, June 21, 2015. We wanted to wish a very Happy Father's Day to the man of this family! I thought it would be fun for each of the kids (over 2) get to tell you a little bit about him! My Daddy is years old. He loves to eat. Dayne: food.Reece's Cups. Abigail: ribs and Cheese-Its. Darcie: waffles and bacon. Something people may not know about him. Dayne: He sleeps with his mouth open. Abigail: He grew up on a horse ranch. Darcie: that he's the best Dad in the world. Josiah: he plays on phones. Dayne:...

a mist of a life: February 2012

http://amistofalife.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

A mist of a life. My journal as i journey through this vapor. As life goes on and on and on, there are moments that slip by too quickly and become but a mere flashback of what was. Though that statement alone is very pessimistic, this post is not. :). And I said nothing but when she reads this she'll know what on earth I was doing. One might think, "Really? The Mississippi Capitol building is worthy of a mental picture, Kristina? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Hepners Blog: I have a NEW MAN!

http://hepnersblog.blogspot.com/2015/07/i-have-new-man.html

Sunday, July 5, 2015. I have a NEW MAN! Have you seen my new man? I haven't seen his handsome face in over 3 years, so I was more than happy to see the beard gone! I'm loving that soft face! Even better, he raised $5,000 for international missions! Why would anyone with that handsome face grow a beard. July 7, 2015 at 4:01 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). http://hepnersblog.blogspot.com/2015/02/a-letter-to-my-tcks.html

Wednesday, February 18, 2015. A letter to my TCKs. My Dear Children,. It's time. It goes by so fast, doesn't it? Hepners Blog: He is worthy!

http://hepnersblog.blogspot.com/2015/03/he-is-worthy.html

Monday, March 30, 2015. Today was an emotional one. We had to say our "see ya later" to our church family. We love them so much! We have been so loved and so encouraged over these past 7 months. Our cup runneth over. We stood before them today and thanked them. I hoped they heard our hearts.they were full.and yes, I cried. I said something like this. I love this church, don't you? I love so many of your sweet faces! I chose you and appointed you that you should go and. Today was a good day. Full of.

Hepners Blog: Grateful Exuberance

http://hepnersblog.blogspot.com/2015/08/grateful-exuberance.html

Monday, August 3, 2015. I read this today and was so touched and blessed and humbled by how true it is! Just collect roses, the praise and compliments, during the day; you hold them, put them together in a bouquet, then at the end of the day, you get on your knees and say, here, father, these were yours all along. I just held them for you. -Corrie ten Boom. I have learned, and continue to learn day by day that I am nothing without Christ.and I fail miserably when I try! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Two Years Old and Rising. The Terrible Twos- the good, the bad, the ugly. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. April 27, 2015. Apparently, nothing says happy fourth birthday like a lamb and a were-rabbit. It could have been a rocket, a hedgehog or even a train. Two years in Ghana

Two years in Ghana. A travel blog from Ghana about walking, travelling, ecotourism, eating, football and general pottering about in Accra and beyond. Wednesday, 21 August 2013. Two years goes quickly. It feels like only yesterday that Hannah and I landed at Kotoka airport in Accra. Late in the night, wondering what life in Ghana would be like. And yet I was missing Ghana. Berlin seems too calm, too organised. I miss the chaos: hawkers coming up to sell bead necklaces and phone credit. If you’ve nev...
