Monday, January 17, 2011. I've mentioned Lettie and Jared in other posts. They taught a class we went to last fall and have adopted through foster care. Their passion for foster parenting is unique and.well.contagious. I sent her a message on Facebook about starting the foster parenting classes. Saturday, January 15, 2011. Jeremiah has had back problems for a number of years. It has gotten extremely bad in the last year. Although.some days I wonder if it is all a game just to have me wait on him hand and foot. LOL. Ok.totally kidding. He's in a lot of pain. I hate it for him. We were crushed when we found out we were denied insurance not only because we needed it to proceed with the adoption, but because it meant he couldn't get medical treatment for his back. I was at work when I heard about this story and held in my emotions all day, but my hour ride home was full of thoughts and prayers for this little boy. I came home, told Jeremiah and cried. I said.if this boy makes it.what will happen to him next? Will he go home or will he now be placed in foster care? Will a relative take him? What will be his story after his trauma? Friday, January 07, 2011. Sarah emailed me back this morning saying she was out of the office today and told me to get in touch with Michelle who teaches the foster parent classes. Michelle emailed me minutes later with the application attached. The orientation is Tuesday, January 18 from 6-8pm and the classes start the first week in February and run for 9 weeks. Monday, January 17, 2011. There is a family at our church that fosters a little girl. I sent Lacey (the mom) a message on Facebook and told her we were taking the foster parenting classes and would love to meet up with her for coffee some time. She wrote back and told me to call or text her anytime. She also said Michelle, from the Children's Division who is teaching our class, and her graduated high school together. Wednesday, December 01, 2010. I met this couple today. Mary Alice invited me to her class where Alex and Alexa Abenchuchan were guest speaking. They shared their story and told us about their upcoming adventure to Eastern Europe. They have traveled all over. I'm completely jealous and LOVE LOVE LOVE their passion for not only orphans, but DEAF orphans. I wish I could go with them. And their website is www.odeafo.com.
