The Biscotti Kitchen: October 2010
http://thebiscottikitchen.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 27 October 2010. BBC Good Food show. Sorry for such quiet for a while, but have barely left the kitchen in the last few weeks! Since my last blog I have been busy baking for Glasgow, for where I won the Small Producers bursary to exhibit for free, and since then it has been hectic. Just the planning for the event was sending me into a spin, with the longest shoppoing list of ingredients that I have ever seen. Flour, as always from http:/ www.shipton-mill.com/. Near Byers Rd, which was amazing!

Tuesday, August 24, 2010. One of my favourite poets. Died this week aged 90. He was a Glaswegian, like me, and I met him once or twice in The Ubiquitous Chip. Or so said the old man with a wicked sense of humour and a twinkle in his eye.). I have the fondest memories of learning his work, including the following poem whilst still at school.one of my all time favourites.from the Glasgow Sonnets:. A mean wind wanders through the backcourt trash. Hackles on puddles rise, old mattresses. Links to this post.

Travels to the pub and back. Monday, April 30, 2007. I went to see Travis. I'd do a long, meandering review but it isn't necessary: Travis are really, really good live. I lost interest in their albums after. But each time I see them in person. We had some pub food at the Ubiquitous Chip. On the way back to the...

The world’s fittest cities. June 1, 2014. When considering a great spot for a UK vacation, Glasgow may not historically have been top of your list. However with a lively music scene and full of restaurants, bars and clubs, Scotland’s largest city most certainly deserves a second thought. This summer sees the Commonwealth Games take place in the city but there are a number of other reasons why this is most certainly a place to visit. Also known as Glasgow’s best steakhouse, may be the place for you. When ...
