Hot, but sweet! Lava Lamp is designed for an undergraduate class called “Illumination: Lighting”, at Art Center College of Design. The objective of the two week project was to imitate a lighting effect according to a given metaphor, in this case “inside of a volcano”, without exceeding our budget, which was $20. Lava lamp is slowly melting 3 packs candies with the help of an infrared heat bulb, to create desired volcanic effect… and smells good too! By Refik Burak Atatur. Art Center College of Design.

Rahn the Chosen is a rubber-band powered RC racer,designed for the annual GradID Formula-E race. According to folklore, Rahn was the chosen warrior to protect his tribe from the ancient evil, and he needed to earn his tattoos of bone-crushing power by facing three mythical tests…. Rahn is powered by a 16 feet long rubber band, has a top speed of 30 miles per hour and a range of more than 400 feet per wind. With two battery powered micro-servos to steer and brake, Rahn is quite maneuverable.
