USA Paragliding: July 2011
http://usaparagliding.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 15, 2011. Land of Castles and Lions. Josh and I made the 15 km drive to El Barco de Avila to see it’s castle. We walked around the castle but, as all good castles are, it was impenetrable. No unlocked doors, no windows, no way to see inside. Jack capitalized on the wind and flew with it to the pass at Tournavacas. As for me, I was on task to see what was in that castle! 2011 USA Paragliding team. Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Too Late at the Party. Salamanca is known for it’s university, it&...

Matt's Basic Life & Occasional Adventure: June 2011
http://mattsbigadventure.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Matts Basic Life and Occasional Adventure. Snippets of Matts daily life, and adventures with family, friends and pets. Saturday, June 11, 2011. Race day finally arrived for the Utah Valley Marathon. My day started at about 3 am when I awoke in time to catch the 3:30 shuttle van to the start area above Provo Canyon in Wallsburg. I missed my BQ goal by 8.5 minutes, but still had a great finish time (for an old guy who doesn't always train too seriously :-). And here is what is left of the Provo Tabernacle,...

Matt's Basic Life & Occasional Adventure: Boston 4-15-13, Part 2
http://mattsbigadventure.blogspot.com/2014/04/boston-4-15-13-part-2.html
Matts Basic Life and Occasional Adventure. Snippets of Matts daily life, and adventures with family, friends and pets. Thursday, April 17, 2014. Boston 4-15-13, Part 2. It has taken me over a year to finally document my experience of the events on 4-15-13 in writing. I wanted to accomplish this before returning to Boston this year, to hopefully allow more healing. How could I let my family know that I was okay? I walked toward the capital building, where a news reporter was broadcasting a live update....

Matt's Basic Life & Occasional Adventure: October 2011
http://mattsbigadventure.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Matts Basic Life and Occasional Adventure. Snippets of Matts daily life, and adventures with family, friends and pets. Sunday, October 2, 2011. We took a quick family trip to southern Utah for the 35th St George Marathon - basically from one end of Utah down to the other! With the hot forecast in Utah's Dixie, we got a rental car for the trip, as our van seems to have "issues" on long, hot drives. It drove fairly nice and got good gas mileage - but I wouldn't buy one. It was warm already at 4 am when I w...

Matt's Basic Life & Occasional Adventure: Boston 2014
http://mattsbigadventure.blogspot.com/2015/03/boston-2014.html
Matts Basic Life and Occasional Adventure. Snippets of Matts daily life, and adventures with family, friends and pets. Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Boston 2014 was obviously different than 2013 for me. I had taken the time to train all winter long, keeping a good mix of running routes, hills and varied terrain. My goal was not only to run faster than last year, but also to run a smarter race, be able to better handle the Newton hills, and hopefully finish strong. We walked the Freedom Trail together, to see a...
