Here are the results of last weekend's Mother's Day Missilefits. Launch and some pictures of my rocket. You can see I started with a sketch of a Giant-Baby-Head idea (perhaps too similar to my previous Flying Skull Rocket. And eventually switched to a more aerodynamic Stork-Birth model:. Art by Anita: September 2013

Wednesday, September 25, 2013. My favorite project this year was creating the invitation suite and guest "book" (it's a poster, not a book) for my dear darling friend, Amanda, and her wonderful new husband, Drew. Premium hand-drawn lettering. Notice the elegant monogram. This is the front of the invitation, drawn from a photo taken by the couple on a fishing trip. They also went on a fishing trip for their honeymoon! This photo was taken by their very talented photographer Ilya K. View my complete profile.

M. Ian Ross: Foliage sketches
http://ianrossillustration.blogspot.com/2008/07/foliage-sketches.html
Tuesday, July 15, 2008. A couple quick foliage studies I did recently. Very challenging, but a lot of fun to try. Pencil on big wrinkled paper). Gouache on watercolor paper). A long awaited new post! Great studies, man. The tree shape is cool and I especially love the loose quality of that gouache one! July 16, 2008 at 12:26 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Blow Your Horn, Hunter! M. Ian Ross: The Steadfast Tin Soldier
http://ianrossillustration.blogspot.com/2008/05/steadfast-tin-soldier.html
Sunday, May 18, 2008. The Steadfast Tin Soldier. Here are a couple pieces I'm working on for my class, from the Hans Christian Andersen story "The Steadfast Tin Soldier." Gouache on illustration board, with some lighting and color help courtesy of Photoshop. The end goal is to have these be two finished pieces of a 32 page storybook. I'm working on sketches and designs for the rest of it now, and if they turn out alright I'll post em up. January 16, 2009 at 8:43 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
