Archive for July, 2007. Well, Gene Logsdon does it again, this time with an entertaining and thoughtful piece. On “bootleg” raw milk. You just gotta love this. Mr. Logsdon pokes fun at the “Milk Police” whose mandate has nothing to do with public health. As most of you probably know, dairy farmers who want to sell raw milk to people who want to drink raw milk, get around the prevailing power of the Milk Police by what they call herd share agreements. Now, I’ve talked about this attitude thing before.

Archive for October, 2007. A matter of conscience. Like you, probably, I’ve been amazed and humbled, in the past week or so, by the story of the Buddhist monks in Myanmar (Burma) quietly and peacefully resisting their totalitarian regime. This morning features an article by Henry Porter. Being a contrarian of sorts, I’d like to tweak his thesis a little. In fact, (more…). October 1, 2007 at 11:42 am. And she steps out of the shadows. Swan song, I suppose. Welcome to the gulch, Brad and Wendy.

Nerd Queen! | The Freedom Outlaw

January 6, 2008 at 12:54 pm. Uber Cool Nerd Queen, thank you very much! I was so surprised by these results that I just had to post ’em. Me. Geek, maybe, but nerd? Nerd is a title of honor. Nerd is a pride thing! I’m such a non-techie that it’s embarrassing. I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a slide rule in the flesh (or is that in the wood? And except for TNG. And the less bloody episodes of Firefly, I am NOT a sci-fi fan. Take the Nerd Test yourself here. Entry filed under: Free Your Mind. Sunni and th...

Archive for March, 2009. Swan song, I suppose. Yep, it’s been months since I last posted. I’m not going to make excuses, although I am sorry if anyone’s been missing reading posts here. I have had nothing worthwhile to say, and much else to do…you know how that goes, I’m pretty sure. But I’ve been doing some hanging out over at the Life After the Oil Crash forums. How long before people start writing hymns to outlaws again? PRETTY BOY FLOYD (Woody Guthrie). Every crime in Oklahoma was added to his name.

Archive for June, 2007. The tribe truly is widespread. Lately I’ve been astonished and warmed to observe how many people, from widely different walks of life, and even in divergent times, “get it” about the insanity and brutality of those in power. Some interesting reading I’ve been doing lately – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s. Why We Can’t Wait. It is true that some demonstrators suffered violence, and that a few paid the extreme penalty of death. They were the martyrs of last summer [1963] who laid...

The Soda Pop Blog. While Root Beer may be my Number 1, I do drink other sodas, actually more frequently than Root Beer. Since I do, I might as well review them and do some talking. Ive been many places outside the US worth going to and lived there in interesting times. China, Egypt, Israel, Japan, South Africa. Ive learned many things in my foreign sojourns. The most important things? That Root Beer is a goodness, government is not and freedom and liberty are worth having and so is a good Root Beer!
