May 20, 2013. There has been much controversy about the whale shark watching at. Oslob recently. I was in Moalboal primarily for a diving holiday and. Decided to visit to get a first hand experience. I reached Oslob after. A two hour drive and was a bit surprised at how amateur the operation. Looked. Essentially it was a few fishermen with bangkas (outrigger. Boats) and a few folks to manage the crowd. The fisherman throw food. Krill or other crustaceans) into the sea to feed the whale sharks who. Would ...

Half Sweet n' Half Nuts: January 2007
http://halfsweetnhalfnuts.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Half Sweet n' Half Nuts. Tuesday, January 30, 2007. Spent way too much time in an airplane or at an airport in the last six weeks. Since I have been traveling mostly by myself I have realized airports/airplanes are the perfect place for introspection. After the mandatory phone calls informing anyone who cares that your flight is on time etc. there isn. T much to do but be by yourself and think. Part 1 From an airport in an exotic land to an airport back home. Why cant we have world class airports? They’r...

Girl:Uninterrupted: February 2008

A blog about nothing. Saturday, February 23, 2008. I never thanked you…. 8221; .But now that a thin shaft of the sunlight of hope and joy seems to have pierced the thick pall of gloom that had set in, I dither in thanking you. That I doubt your ways? That I stand at the brink of the calm sea that you have set before me- dipping a toe in, doubtful of the calm, wary of violent undercurrents? Do you think I lack faith, or do you understand this state of being? So here I go. Thank you. Even for the b...Did s...

Girl:Uninterrupted: Auld Lang Syne
http://havehandswillwrite.blogspot.com/2008/05/auld-lang-syne.html
A blog about nothing. Thursday, May 22, 2008. I was woken up last night by the wistful cry of the friendly neighbourhood koel. There seemed something deeply eerie and haunting about that cry which rent the still night. Like it wailed for lost times, memories in which it both rejoiced and mourned. Like some deeply entrenched emotion in the darkest recesses of it's being had been released and all it could do was coo in response. For Bubun da. Thank you for scaring the bully in my class who used to tort...

Living on a Jet Plane: Ed
http://livingonajet.blogspot.com/2011/04/ed.html
Living on a Jet Plane. Sunday, 10 April 2011. When I wrote my last post I felt this blog needed an indefinitely long break. I had a mind to suspend it permanently (or until I turn 25, whichever comes first). But I had an experience this morning which I feel compelled to share. The job opened up because his predecessor died of cirrhosis. Ed shook his head sadly as he told me what happened. "He was 62. Too much alcohol, that stuff will kill you." I nodded a little self-consciously as he wen...It was half p...

September 27, 2011. As a late 20-something, couples falling in and out of love is not something new to me, it happens fairly often. However, when one such couple broke up over the weekend, I was shocked. A six year relationship was broken in a matter of two weeks. And not just any six year relationship but one in which everyone outside only asked the question – so when is he going to propose? From → Relationships. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. In Perpetual Transition: September 2009
http://havenofullstops.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 05, 2009. Adho paru - Minnal. I have written over past few years about how I love to travel and meet people and how my work helps me with just that. I have not moved out of Bombay in close to 3 months. This is the longest period since I joined work where I have had no travel. Whenever she spotted a girl within 100m radius. So what if the girl was only 18. Sigh! Happened and NS, shedding all pretensions of professional conduct, stamped my leg. I was quite sure that the lady would h...

In Perpetual Transition: Dubai Trip
http://havenofullstops.blogspot.com/2011/06/dubai-trip.html
Saturday, June 18, 2011. So finally I did travel :) And this time, it was to Dubai. It was my first trip west of India. And I was mighty excited. And Dubai was a lot of what I had expected. And in many ways it was very different too. For starters, Dubai's economy isn't driven by oil. In fact only 15-20. Of GDP was because of Oil. The oil is mostly in Abu Dhabi. Dubai is much like Singapore, driven by service sector. The 2008 recession hit Dubai hard with exodus of a lot of expatriates. From articles I.

In Perpetual Transition: September 2010
http://havenofullstops.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 25, 2010. This has been the saddest experience of my life, as I was very close to my mom in spite of the distance. She was a loving and caring woman who loved life and people and it makes me very sad that she no longer will be able to enjoy the life she loved so much. I’m eager and happy to get on with work, knowing that all business problems always have a solution, which is not the case with health and life issues. This signs talk sounds so mumbo-jumbo, hocus-pocus right? A phenomeno...
