Running Minnesota: NORM PURRINGTON
http://runningminnesota.blogspot.com/2006/11/norm-purrington.html
This is a blog designed to get at what's missing from the Minnesota running scene; interviews with the top local runners. Thursday, November 02, 2006. When did you start running? How'd you get involved? During my senior year of high school our school started a cross-country program and we went to state as a team. My 3 brothers all ran in college, but not me. I started my adult running when I was 39 and started getting serious with racing when I turned 40. What are your PRs and when did you set them?

Slab City Running Company and Associates train 'til your head explodes and the words don't rhyme. Wednesday, November 28, 2007. Don't Need To Hold My Hand/Just Walk With Me Tonight. Today marks 10 weeks since I've gone for a run. It turns out that if you set me down, my body will probably just intuitively stay put. There have been some sit-up fits, some push-up starts and some biking in place. But for the most part the stationary bike has been the Metaphor in the Corner of my living room. It was not bad.

Spent the week in New Orleans, where it was, among other things, hot. I'd heard this about New Orleans, though, and planned the down week accordingly. Running, work, and getting generally lost took me through neighborhoods in various stages of recovery. Workin' my way back onto the horse.

Congrats to the squad at HLC- looked like some pretty solid throwdownaj! Most of last week was generally uneventful on the running front. Some 40-60 min runs in Boise up in the hills and along the Greenbelt. Generally speaking, Boise's a sweeter town than you might think. Didn't bother with a watch since there was nothing else to d...
