¡Ay Chihuahua!: Mulch madness
http://chihuahuagarden.blogspot.com/2008/03/mulch-madness.html
Garden journal of a greenhorn gringo in the Chihuahuan desert. Saturday, March 29, 2008. Casa Congilio has the post I've been meaning to write on gravel mulch. Only with better writing and photos. Gravel mulch: I like to use stepping stone types of rocks vs. pebbles. Free and plentiful in the Rocky Mtns, maybe not in your area. Because they're flat, debris blows right off them. Plus, tiny indentations in the stones collect water for butterflies. Hmmmm a case of false advertising? Other Desert Garden Blogs.

Explores this question in a more thorough and fascinating way. Pollan. Traces the natural history of four meals from their origin to final consumption. It was the third section of Pollan's. Now that I’ve had a chance to stand on my soap box, I’ll get to the point of this post. There are many great tips for saving money and our limited resources:. Saving paper and the trees it comes from. Save paper and ridding us of the temptation to spend by getting rid of unwanted catalogs – and hopefully eventually scale back the US Postal Service. ¡Ay Chihuahua!: Texas Mountain Laurel
http://chihuahuagarden.blogspot.com/2008/03/texas-mountain-laurel.html
Garden journal of a greenhorn gringo in the Chihuahuan desert. Friday, March 28, 2008. Can’t you smell that smell? The smell of death surrounds you. Now that I’m out of that place Amy Winehouse won’t go and El Paso plant life is starting to wake up again, let’s bring this blog back to life with a post about those fragrant, purple flowers you smell throughout the city. You would think it to be aggressive if the homeowner hadn’t cut it to the ground last year. Another downside, that grapey smell just may b...

Garden journal of a greenhorn gringo in the Chihuahuan desert. Sunday, May 13, 2007. Let's go for a walk in the desert. A cool tree in my neighbor's yard. Overlooking a natural area. Honey Mesquite, a prominent desert shrub/tree. Creosote, another prominent shrub. Yet another prominent shrub. Now how about some wildflowers. First there is Jimson Weed, used by indigenous tribes as a hallucinogenic. No, I don't know how to use it. Some sort of legume, it previously had bright purple flowers. 1 The "cool tr...
