The Photography of Francesca Woodman. These are works by Francesca Woodman. I get by with a little help. . . Of me at work. Yay. Eva I heart you, you don't even know. A Birthday Surprise. . . For my birthday surprise my friend Eva decided to take me to a burnt down house out in the "countryside". Beautiful. I decided to go traisping around in it in a vintage cashmere sweater. I started near what must have used to be a closet under the stairs. Looking through the wall. I like this overall composition.

I would really like to take pictures here. Besides the cost of travel and a new camera, I'd also have to think about how I would deal with the risk of radiation poisoning. It's not an unavoidable danger, but I do have this propensity for getting really involved with my environments. . . I doubt I could top this though. Poetic and inspiring. Labels: broken down places. amanda making photographs: Annihilating with light.
http://amandamakesphotographs.blogspot.com/2009/02/annihilating-with-light.html
Photos from my last location/critique. One of my classmates is renting the house of our regular photo prof, who is on sabatical this year. She invited me to come photograph in this crazy storage shack. The fact that I am photographing on my photo professor's property without her knowing it is just kind of funny to me. Erika, if you read this someday, I hope you don't mind! This got totally flipped the wrong way but it sort of looks cool and I'm too lazy to fix it right now. Labels: broken down places.

The tortures of train rides in Europe. You see, riding on trains through Europe is torture. There are idyllic countrysides, rolling hills of green, darling little houses. . . you just want to stop and soak up every little crumb. But worst of all, for me, are the broken down houses! So that was some small relief. Tomorrow perhaps more. . ? Labels: broken down places. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Welcome to my photo blog! amanda making photographs: O'er near exit 19
http://amandamakesphotographs.blogspot.com/2009/02/oer-near-exit-19.html
O'er near exit 19. My lovely driver Tia took me out to a roofless house near exit 19. It was a sunny day. She read in the grass while I performed/made photographs in the space. The melodic beep of my camera's self timer lulled her off to sleep. The space I found was excellent. I interacted with it. This is what came of it. Doors and windows. . . Always hiding from the light. . . Performing in space. . . So what am I doing? Labels: broken down places. February 15, 2009 at 7:55 PM. Welcome to my photo blog!

For time is the longest distance between two places. . . A long time had passed since I'd gone out to make photographs, even longer since I'd done anything I considered my real work. So what better way to spend new years day than photographing with Carson? After a failed attempt to photograph an old Wells Fargo station, we stopped by an old school house. I snapped a couple of Carson there. . . Labels: broken down places. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Welcome to my photo blog! Offer to drive her to locations.
