The Buzz with Brett. Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Jago Chapter 4: Writing About Literature. One of the most fun times I have ever had with writing was writing about a book we have just read or talking it over with some friends. many students hate this aspect of ENGLISH but I love it and I hope that when the time comes I'll be able to teach it well enough so my students will love it too. Jago Chapter 3: Teachign Narrative Writing. I was also one of those students that teachers were unsure about with the w...

Strong Intellect: Group 3: Poetry
http://beautifulmind810.blogspot.com/2008/04/group-3-communities.html
Sunday, April 13, 2008. I enjoyed this group's presentation mainly because I enjoy poetry in general. I was absent from the first day and my only question is did they reference the book on the first day? Overall, I enjoyed their portion of the project; and I loved participating in the writing process. I think that showed how well they planned each persons part and I really enjoyed that they allowed us to express our selves. Good job group 3! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). In Between Dreams: Cohesive Writing Matters-Jago Chapter 6

Sunday, February 3, 2008. Cohesive Writing Matters-Jago Chapter 6. For a very brief chapter I feel that Chapter 6 had some important insight and reminders for us educators. One concept that I felt was interesting to think about was the idea that for some students an English teacher is their only source for information about how to write in a cohesive manner. Therefore, as future English teachers our job goes far beyond giving out assignments and providing lectures, we must teach. Regardless if its graded...

Thoughts on Sec Ed Writing: group teach communitites
http://teachwritingmmc.blogspot.com/2008/04/group-teach-communitites.html
Thoughts on Sec Ed Writing. Friday, April 11, 2008. I was a little confused by the communities discussion towards the end of the class. I didn't really see how it was addressing building classroom communities. It was more about communities in general. I think we got a little off topic discussing racial issues, although relevant to communities. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Http:/ beautifulmind810.blogspot.com/. Strong Intellect: Group 1: Multi-genre
http://beautifulmind810.blogspot.com/2008/03/group-1.html
Monday, March 31, 2008. I often heard freshman from most of my professors that they were going help us mold our own way of thinking as appose to the way we were taught and expected to think. I think that this kind of exercise is important to help students to understnad they do have a mind of their own and that they do have a choice. Another text to check out is Tom Romano's Blending Genres, Altering Styles. I think it comes before the text your peers did for the presentation. March 31, 2008 at 6:17 PM.

The Buzz with Brett. Friday, March 28, 2008. Writing For Communities Presentation. OKay, so this was my group's presentation. i feel that we did a great job considering that we only met for 3-5 min. after class for 2 times. We also had a hard time getting through on e-mail also b/c a lot of ideas were misconstrued or typed in a certain way that it was unclear to everybody however, i feel that we did really well.
