Saturday, 15 October 2011. Bad Blood (or, having ITP). I'm lucky enough not to have a severe form of the disease. A normal platelet count is around 150 and 400 (x109 per litre). Anything under 100 is classed as having ITP. My count normally sits at around the 70-80 mark, although at it's lowest it was 25. I don't need any regular treatment and visit the consultant once a year to essentially keep me 'on the books'. If you read my post The Mum in Me. Having ITP doesn't effect my day-to-day life at all....
