Took me back to my own first wine job in the 1990s, selling Margaret River to Japanese tourists in Perth, WA. A time when men were men, the women were also men, and using words like ‘cool climate’ got you a punch in the face. The boss fellah in the shop was a Roseworthy graduate and show judge. It was Massive Attack’s version of the soul classic,. Be thankful for what you’ve got. The next day, as I spent a few hours up at the plot preparing the soil, the words seemed especially appropriate.
