Just Peddling: Mushrooms, Mike and missing mates
http://justpeddling.blogspot.com/2009/10/mushrooms-mike-and-missing-mates.html
Saturday, 24 October 2009. Mushrooms, Mike and missing mates. Pedaling into Brittany through heavy mizzle, spotting familiar place names and smelling that air, Breton air, there’s nothing quite like it, especially in the autumn. Leaves are starting to fall in earnest and the colours all around me are beautiful today. I’d posted on the internet that I’d be in the Steren Roz Pub last night to give fans a chance to meet and greet, photo opportunities to the Press and folk could even pay a fee fo...I braced ...

Just Peddling: Wet and windy Cornwall !
http://justpeddling.blogspot.com/2009/10/wet-and-windy-cornwall.html
Friday, 30 October 2009. Wet and windy Cornwall! Well, I'm home . to a dark, wet and windy Autumn here in Cornwall. The bikes back in the shed and I've been in the same place for what must be three days now? 10,000, I cant believe that? I thought the bike would be straight on ebay as soon as I got home but within 24 hours I wanted to get on it again! What's happened to me? I had to keep reminding myself which side of the road to ride on! I'm not sure I'll be doing it by bike again but I do like the idea ...

Just Peddling: Long cold road...
http://justpeddling.blogspot.com/2009/10/long-cold-road.html
Friday, 16 October 2009. A long cold, windy ride across the Charente! What a soul destroying day yesterday was . Worse than any mountain. Long long bitterly cold head winds, mile after mile of relentless battering, crawling along at just 7 mph through bland, open countryside, the wind so loud I could hardly hear my ipod! I hadn’t considered that there would be a whole different wind system here, my thinking was that it would be just like home, with a prevailing Sou’westerly to nudge me along? I turned ar...

Just Peddling: Sailing home....
http://justpeddling.blogspot.com/2009/10/sailing-home.html
Wednesday, 28 October 2009. I’m in my cabin, on the boat home, with a bald patch! There’s a mirror on the bathroom door behind me and mirror in front of me. They’re set off at such an angle to each other that I can quite clearly see a bald patch on the crown of my head! Morlaix was a real treat this morning, a hearty hand shake from the L’Hotel du port manager and I was off. I took a spin around the town centre, taking in the atmosphere, architecture and that thumping great viaduct! Welcome back x x.

Just Peddling: The last leg....
http://justpeddling.blogspot.com/2009/10/last-leg.html
Monday, 26 October 2009. I must have looked insane to passers by (both of them! Eventually, after about 7 hours pedalling I made it up to Spezet where I stayed with Geoff, a very keen cyclist. I was warmly welcomed by him and some of his friends to drinks, nibbles and cheer. A fine topping off to another long day. Friends left and we tucked into our dinner chatting about prostates and definitely not being gay. Bloody lovely bloke though, and by the time we'd parted after a bite to eat in Huelgoat, a beau...

Just Peddling: Heading out of Angers.....
http://justpeddling.blogspot.com/2009/10/heading-out-of-angers.html
Wednesday, 21 October 2009. Heading out of Angers. Angers is a beautiful old city, well worth a visit, boasting the most amazing, totally uncompromising Medieval castle or Keep or something, it's absolutely vast, built between the 9th and 12th century. I'm sure I've got a photo of it somewhere but I'm racing against my battery like usual here! After a few hills I'm dying for a beer, daydreaming . Villages come and go with the usual closed down Bars (see photo). There's nothing worse than wanting ...Hungr...

Just Peddling: The long wet road to Fumel....
http://justpeddling.blogspot.com/2009/10/long-wet-road-to-fumel.html
Friday, 9 October 2009. The long wet road to Fumel. I only had to cycle about 25 miles yesterday but it seemed like a long ole drag, coupled with distant thunder and lightning for a while and rain too! I've been really lucky with the weather so far so it was bound to change at some point. Looking out the window here in Fumel it's looking pretty murky today too, so I'd better drag out the wet weather gear from the bottom of the pannier! Its bigger than a broom cupboard.honest! 9 October 2009 at 13:54.

Just Peddling: Long straight road to Cognac !
http://justpeddling.blogspot.com/2009/10/long-straight-road-to-cognac.html
Wednesday, 14 October 2009. Long straight road to Cognac! This road just went on and on and on. With such a strong head wind it felt like I had my breaks on! The bike would actually just stop dead without rolling when ever I stopped pedalling! The road to Cognac . After Cognac it was back into rolling hills and lanes and villages, empty, half derelict villages . And then there was Herpes! That one caught my attention and made me chuckle. Far too tired to be bothered or worried, I dropped off again .

Just Peddling: Angouleme.....
http://justpeddling.blogspot.com/2009/10/angouleme.html
Thursday, 15 October 2009. It's Thursday ("all day" I'm reliably informed from the next room! I went into Angouleme yesterday, which is an amazing town to have a snoop around, very old and very French. I've put some pictures up there too, of Wendy's cottage where I stayed the other night, the show room to all things twee and cottagey! Oh, and a fantastic mural in Angouleme too, painted by some famous cartoonist, I've forgotten his name, but I'm sure you can tell by the style? In true athletic style I sat...
