Vintage Railroad Stocks and Bonds: What is a Civil War Railroad Stock or Bond?
http://vintagerrstockbonds.blogspot.com/2014/10/what-is-civil-war-railroad-stock-or-bond.html
Vintage Railroad Stocks and Bonds. Friday, October 17, 2014. What is a Civil War Railroad Stock or Bond? This piece was listed as a Civil War stock. The only claim was that the company was charted in 1856. Unless the seller didn't know his history I don't understand the logic. Also an unissued piece. This stock is issued to Jay Cooke. Seller said he was a Civil War financer. Ok but the war was over in 1876 why does the auction say Civil War stock. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). All about my blog.

Vintage Railroad Stocks and Bonds: Give Me Uncancelled
http://vintagerrstockbonds.blogspot.com/2015/05/give-me-uncancelled.html
Vintage Railroad Stocks and Bonds. Friday, May 1, 2015. Even though I have maybe 2 or 3 cancelled certificates my preference is always to collect non cancelled certificates. Some collectors ask me why limit my collecting by always looking for that uncancelled piece. There are two reasons. Some certificates are beautifully engraved works of art and I just don't like holes, cutouts, blocks outs or any of the other damaging procedures done to a certificate when it is cancelled.
