So many islands to choose from . you will just have return again and again! The Greek Islands appear on almost every 'top ten' island getaways list if not all. It is not surprising to anyone. The locals would definitely agree and so would foreigners, who have it on their bucket lists. I am fortunate enough to live in Athens, in Peiraias to be exact, which is the gateway to islands by ferry. Galissas Beach, Syros. Check out the view from my balcony! And let your spirit free! I was born and raised in Malaysia, I made my first trip to Greece in 2005, right after spending 7 and a half weeks traveling around western Europe. Since moving here permanently, I have been living in Peiraias since 2007 with my husband Yiannis, and fur-baby Gizmo. Life is quite unpredictable. A historical but lively city full of surprises. Many come to Athens for the Acropolis, and indeed the ancient sites are not to be missed.
