Volunteer Burnaby: Rick Hansen - Wheels in Motion Event
http://volunteerburnaby.blogspot.com/2007/06/rick-hansen-wheels-in-motion-event.html
Friday, June 15, 2007. Rick Hansen - Wheels in Motion Event. On Sunday, June 10, I had the pleasure of attending the Rick Hansen - Wheels in Motion Event with my colleague Sarah. Despite being a cloudy day with light showers occurring, the event attracted quite a few people. This year, the event was originally scheduled to be held at the Westminster Quay, but due to flooding, it was moved to Queen's Park. Sarah and I went down to the Quay to make sure people knew where to go. View my complete profile.

Tuesday, June 12, 2007. Re-integration to the Volunteering Community—Initial Thoughts. In the midst of this mundane cycle, volunteering is hardly ever at the forefront. There is a serious lack of free time, but the other issue is that it just isn’t a popular topic among various social circles. These social circles are what people are exposed to in their time away from the mandatory time clogs of school or work, so there is minimal opportunity for volunteering to surface in one’s mind.

Thursday, July 26, 2007. Thanks to everyone for the participation and support! I personally think online volunteering is a great method for organizations to support volunteering. Barriers like time, space, and efficiency are kept to minimal levels through the use of the internet. It is a growing trend with far reaching potential, and organizations stand to gain significant benefits from taking advantage. And Macdonald Youth Services. Are two key resources that you can look into for online volunteering.

Thursday, July 19, 2007. Ultimately, it was a pleasant way to spend a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. To see so many families and members of the community working together to hold a festival celebrating the community is very satisfying. It is pretty special to see that Volunteer Burnaby is not alone in working to accomplish our mission to facilitate development of our community. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
