huasna-ride

http://www.wanderingthewest.com/campnridespring2010/huasna-ride.html

The Backcountry Horsemen Spring 2010 CampnRide held on the Porter Ranch, part of the original Huasna Rancho and owned by the same family since 1843, 167 years under the same ownership! As you can see the grasss is deep and green and the river shows no signs of over grazing. The land has been well cared for all these years. Around 110 of us camped in a narrow canyon and rode out for miles along the ranch roads and trails. Looking south toward the Cuyama River. Note the ancient barn. Don't Fence me in,.

point reyes

http://www.wanderingthewest.com//point%20reyes/PointReyes.html

Point Reyes one winter. Back to home page. I left Truckee for a few days, driving up over the summit through six inches of new snow. I went to Point Reyes. It is one of the world's most preciously beautiful places. There are some trees that don't fit in, bay trees, perhaps they mark the site of a homestead of years ago. The narrow country road clings to the hill above the creek bottom. The creeks here are wonderfully lush, full of brambles and nettles and willows and sycamores and oaks. I feel such peace...

Vegetation is inhospitable with sage and creosote vying for space with the cheat grass. Mile 19.4 Antelope Spring. The final slope to Antelope S...

These are historical photos of the Sisquoc, Sespe, and Cuyama Country. They are copies from a book on the history of Cuyama Valley, by Robert Allbright. I have taken the liberty of posting them here as they deserve preservation and availablity to a wide audience. The Sisquoc Rangers were a group of Venturan County men who spent time camping and hunting in the mountains of the county at the turn of the century. Ozena Ranger Station and mule team. Early Rangers in what became the Lost Padres National Forest.

Wandering the Wasatch

Monday, December 7, 2009. With the single digit temps today, it is hard to believe that a little over a week ago I was shredding dirt with Larissa and my Dad. The bikes are now put away for the season as we await for the snow gods to unleash their fury on the Wasatch. As always a great way to close out the season with some shred in Billings over Thanksgiving. Friday, October 9, 2009. Just Because I'm on the Level. Friday, August 28, 2009. Pacific Crest Trail Overview. Tent Rocks National Monument Day Hike. In May we had the chance to spend a week in Santa Fe with family. We couldn’t wait to visit the desert again! Our itinerary included an excellent day hike in Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument. At 3 miles roundtrip, the hike was short, but it included some fantastic geology. Family hike in Tent Rocks National Monument. We found a kingcup cactus flaunting its bold red flowers near the trail. Uncle Bernie walking through the canyon.

Trip to Wonderland

Dienstag, 2. Juni 2015. Rezension Ein Glück für immer von Ruta Sepetys. Ein Glück für immer. Out of the Easy.
