April 17, 2014. Glass is getting more fun to paint the more I do it, I guess that’s called practice. In this painting I used our unusually shaped wine decanter, wasn’t terribly easy and took a couple of scrape downs until I liked it. I slipped a plate underneath, originally just for balance, but when I saw the reflections I knew I had to add them, hence the name. Thanks for looking. And on a side note, if you like beautiful watercolors, check out fellow artist Celia Blanco. April 17, 2014. April 10, 2014.

Carole Baker's Art Journal. Thursday, January 29, 2015. I'm back to painting everyday until I've posted 30 paintings. I lost some time with my cold, so I'm going to keep working into February. Actually, I probably will have painted 30 paintings by the end of the month. I wiped out several and have a few little watercolors that I haven't posted. You sure are flexible changing from oils to w/c in one sitting. Glad you are better and able to wrap up the challenge. January 29, 2015 at 7:21 PM. Welcome to my ...

I feel I've made progress with my oil painting and am glad that I let myself depend on my memory and sketches. Watercolor 3x4.5 inches. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Small town in Alaska. Carole Baker's Art Journal: Sick Day
http://carolebaker.blogspot.com/2015/01/sick-day.html
Carole Baker's Art Journal. Wednesday, January 21, 2015. My painting today is not one I did today. I did it last winter, from my car at the end of the dock, looking across to Pleasant Island and Chichigof Island. I caught a bad cold a few days ago and this morning I decided I'd better take it easy at least for today. I caught the cold from my husband who has been sick for 2 weeks and has developed pneumonia. Great colors Carole, and great willpower. This is a nice series! January 21, 2015 at 7:06 PM.

I did this little watercolor on the first day of the month which will have to suffice for today. yesterday now that I'm posting it. Love the suggestion of the shrub fuzz with the white area. Carole Baker's Art Journal: February 2014
http://carolebaker.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Carole Baker's Art Journal. Thursday, February 27, 2014. POINT ADOLPHUS gouache painting 10.5x7.5. I've been trying to not paint from photographs for much of the last year, and have mostly been using oils. But this painting that I had started and struggled with for close to two years needed finishing. I used several photos that I had taken years ago while fishing with my husband, . and this month I finally cut a mat and found a frame for it. Wednesday, February 19, 2014.
