Watercolors by Celia Blanco: A Sketch a Day

http://www.watercolors-celiablanco.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-sketch-day.html

A Little About Me. Saturday, 23 May 2015. A Sketch a Day. 17 Something used for measuring. Took me a while, did it without a ruler! Something I never use and should throw away. Day 19. A Cupcake. Day 20. Your Wallet. My always empty wallet. Day 21. The Spot You Regularly Sit to Read. My little corner of the house where I find peace and quiet. Love to read before falling asleep. If a book manages to keep me awake, it's got to be good! Any suggestions for summer reading welcome. Thank you for your support!

A Little About Me. Friday, 30 August 2013. Geraniums and some new supplies. Summer Morning Geraniums" 20 x 30 cm watercolor on paper ( Cartiera Mangnani hotpress). I started this painting as a sketch to test paper I recently purchased and in order to play with some new colors in my palette. There are many mistakes in the painting but I managed to finally achieve strong darks. Hooray! Thank you for taking the time to visit! Friday, 23 August 2013. Citrus Garden" watercolor on paper 38 x 28 cm. I would lik...

A Little About Me. Saturday, 8 August 2015. The Room in Amsterdam. Watercolor in my sketchbook. The sketch above is of our hotel room in Amsterdam, this past week we took a family vacation there. Our favorite place is The Van Gogh Museum. A strong recommendation to anyone who visits is to purchase advance e-tickets. They allow you to skip the very long line. Watercolors by Celia Blanco: Fresh Produce Market

http://www.watercolors-celiablanco.blogspot.com/2015/07/fresh-produce-market.html

A Little About Me. Sunday, 12 July 2015. 5" x 7" / 12,5 cm x 17,5 cm. Rome is a city that wakes up early. My local market is open for business by as early as 6:30am. At that hour, the early morning sunlight warms up colors. When it hit these fresh summer apricots, the colors intensified as if it were a glow. Well, that is what I wish to convey: it is always a challenge to convey impressions on paper. What is your favorite summer fruit? I don't think I can pick just one. Have a wonderful week! We had a gr...

April 17, 2014. Glass is getting more fun to paint the more I do it, I guess that’s called practice. In this painting I used our unusually shaped wine decanter, wasn’t terribly easy and took a couple of scrape downs until I liked it. I slipped a plate underneath, originally just for balance, but when I saw the reflections I knew I had to add them, hence the name. Thanks for looking. And on a side note, if you like beautiful watercolors, check out fellow artist Celia Blanco. April 17, 2014. April 10, 2014.

Carole Baker's Art Journal: Number 22

http://carolebaker.blogspot.com/2015/01/number-23.html

Carole Baker's Art Journal. Thursday, January 29, 2015. I'm back to painting everyday until I've posted 30 paintings. I lost some time with my cold, so I'm going to keep working into February. Actually, I probably will have painted 30 paintings by the end of the month. I wiped out several and have a few little watercolors that I haven't posted. You sure are flexible changing from oils to w/c in one sitting. Glad you are better and able to wrap up the challenge. January 29, 2015 at 7:21 PM. Welcome to my ...

Carole Baker's Art Journal. Saturday, January 31, 2015. Number 23 and 24. This is the last day of Leslie Saeta's challenge. To paint 30 paints in January and post them on my blog. I acually did paint 30, though some got wiped out and some I don't think anyone would want to see. I feel I've made progress with my oil painting and am glad that I let myself depend on my memory and sketches. Watercolor 3x4.5 inches. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Small town in Alaska. Carole Baker's Art Journal: Sick Day

http://carolebaker.blogspot.com/2015/01/sick-day.html

Carole Baker's Art Journal. Wednesday, January 21, 2015. My painting today is not one I did today. I did it last winter, from my car at the end of the dock, looking across to Pleasant Island and Chichigof Island. I caught a bad cold a few days ago and this morning I decided I'd better take it easy at least for today. I caught the cold from my husband who has been sick for 2 weeks and has developed pneumonia. Great colors Carole, and great willpower. This is a nice series! January 21, 2015 at 7:06 PM.

Carole Baker's Art Journal. Saturday, January 17, 2015. Watercolor 4.5x5.5 inches. Another painting for Leslie Saeta's 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. I have three oil paintings in progress. I did this little watercolor on the first day of the month which will have to suffice for today. yesterday now that I'm posting it. Love the suggestion of the shrub fuzz with the white area. What a great idea. And so sorry to hear about your husbands illness. January 24, 2015 at 5:06 AM. Small town in Alaska.

http://carolebaker.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Carole Baker's Art Journal. Thursday, February 27, 2014. POINT ADOLPHUS gouache painting 10.5x7.5. I've been trying to not paint from photographs for much of the last year, and have mostly been using oils. But this painting that I had started and struggled with for close to two years needed finishing. I used several photos that I had taken years ago while fishing with my husband, . and this month I finally cut a mat and found a frame for it. Wednesday, February 19, 2014.
