Having grown up with the maiden name Heintzelman I was excited to take on my married name thinking it would be an easier one, and I was excited to share a name with the man I loved. I loved the notion of being half of a whole and of being united with Matt. What I didn't understand at 21 when we became engaged and planned our future, was that by attaching myself to that name I had the prize waiting for me of becoming a part of an entire family. Matthew Robert Nagel, age 35, beloved son, husband and father, went home to the Lord April 4, 2012 at KU Medical Center after suffering a stroke. When week 13 rolled around it meant we officially had a 3 month old. i had one of the MAs at work weigh him and measure him since we don't have another appointment with the pediatrician until he is 4 months. he weighed in at a whopping 12 lbs, 5 oz and measured 23.5 inches long. This was taken while salem slept in my office. he is a lazy assistant. :). I love this picture so much!
