Friday, February 02, 2007. February 1, 2007. As told to Mrs. Nolan). January 26-February 1, 2007. Monday-We made arrays in math. We used quotation marks in writer’s workshop. Tuesday-We did symmetry on the computers. We chose our seed for our narratives. Wednesday-In math we started division. We got a new student named Ty. Friday, September 29, 2006. As told to Mrs. Nolan). September 22-27, 2006. Friday-We learned how to play Reach for the Stars (addition game) in math. We decorated our writer’s notebooks. Monday-We are starting our homework today. In gym we played with the parachute. Tuesday-We used Wikki Stix to make. And = signs in math. We started social studies. Monday, December 11, 2006. Dec 8, 2006. I have decided to write a newsletter on a monthly basis. Please look for it on the first Friday of the month. In Writer’s Workshop we are working on poems. The students have learned to write list poems, poems with repetition and poems with feelings. We will be making a book out of our poems. We will continue with poetry until winter break. Please remember to have your child wear a sweater or sweatshirt because it is cool in the classroom in the morning. Your child brought home two field trip slips. Please sign them and return to school as soon as possible. April 14 No School. April 24 Como Planetarium. April 26 Royal Oaks Elem. May 3 Early Release Day. May 4 Big Event/Science Fair.

Friday, September 22, 2006. Sept 22, 2006. It has been a busy week. We finished the first chapter in Math and have started Chapter 2. Please practice addition basic facts with your child. All second graders need to learn their 0-18 basic facts. This is one of the standards that we need to meet in 2nd grade. We are currently working on creating time capsules that we will open the last week of school. It is always fun to see how much we have grown when we open them up. 10/3 Fundraiser ends, Picture Day.

Friday, May 19, 2006. May 16, 2006. We have been busy taking the Stanford 10 Achievement test this week. We have one more test to take on Tuesday, May 23rd. Please have your child well rested for this test. Our classroom is still in need of gallon sized Ziploc bags. If you could send a box in that would be wonderful. Sunday, October 29, 2006. As told to Mrs. Nolan). Friday-In music we practiced tinikling. We went to the library and learned about the 300’s in nonfiction. Monday-We rode scooters in gym. We made a friendship flower with Ms. Kerri. Tuesday-We did fact families with dominoes. We practiced Read to Someone . Wednesday-In geography we learned about the four directions. We practiced the Daily Four. Thursday-We practiced our Daily Four choices for 25 minutes! Wednesday, October 18th-early release @ 1:40.
