Create your own garden paradise. August 8, 2015. Front yard of local, native plant garden with boulders and native grasses. (2003). My house in 1999 a year after we moved in, landscaped with lawn, trees and foundation plants and flowers. First bit of lawn removed from parkway strip. (1999). Following spring, more lawn to be removed this year. (April 2000). The parkway garden requires almost no care and no supplemental water. Trees shade the sidewalk. (April 2015). Secret Cottage Garden: November 2009

http://secretcottagegarden.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Dedicated to the garden spirits that live here. Saturday, November 28, 2009. My first 78 record was Blue on Blue when I was a teenager. I was never really fond of the song, but will never forget the title. Bobby Vinton was singing a song about having the blues. And this post is about the blues, but in my garden, inspired by Kiki at Awake with Charm and Spirit. First a huge thank you to two wonderful bloggers who have given me the best blog award. And from The Violet Fern. Echeveria in Blue Ceramic pot.

Living in the 'burbs: Fingers Crossed

http://greenhorninthegarden.blogspot.com/2013/03/fingers-crossed.html

Living in the 'burbs. I would have been here sooner, but I went into the wrong house, because THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME! Tuesday, March 19, 2013. We have a lace leaf Hydranga on one side of the yard. We decided to move it to another side of the yard. Of course, I make this decision after it's already started to come back to life. That's how I roll. We finally got it moved. So, fingers crossed as this is one of my wife's favorite plants. Gardener on Sherlock Street. March 19, 2013 at 5:42 PM.

Living in the 'burbs. I would have been here sooner, but I went into the wrong house, because THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME! Thursday, March 14, 2013. See, We Still Grow Stuff. It's been a while, but we're still pluggin' away here at Castle Turling. I got one of the two raised beds to actually grow some winter vegetables. That we ate! In this bed is broccoli first and foremost. We're coming to the end of the season. It was 91F today, so I'm guessing this won't last much longer. March 15, 2013 at 9:51 AM. I told...

Living in the 'burbs. I would have been here sooner, but I went into the wrong house, because THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME! Sunday, November 4, 2012. No Wonder My Tomatoes Were Crap. Yes, that is a tomato worm. And, yes, it's as big as my freaking femur! Nobody tells you they blend so well. I found three of these when we ripped the tomatoes out a while back. I'm sure there were 276 I didn't find. Bastards. November 5, 2012 at 4:16 PM. November 9, 2012 at 9:24 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Lastly, the orange tree has been ripped from the ground and I dropped a multi-trunk white Crepe Myrtle in its place. Only, it's more of a stick at the moment, so I'll get a picture of it when it actually has some leaves and doesn't look like, well, a freaking stick. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
