Expanding: December 2014
http://itsastretch.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2014. A little crappy. but unique. So here goes- first post, for no reason other than it's what's happening right now- and something needs to happen. Where would I be? I wouldn't know myself anymore. Wouldn't want to. I would rather be a business and writer failure and still flop around in the mirror than give up little pockets of raw joy and vulnerability in exchange for thin success. But wouldn't it be nice to have both? Temp page: https:/ clippings.me/margaretshugart.

Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Oh, where in Texas are you from? Did you got to UT? The conversation was progressing predictably. Yes, I did my undergraduate there.". Are you getting ready for graduate school now? I finished grad school a couple of years ago.". What are you going to do with your degree? My common joke: "You're looking at it! Then before I could say "just kidding" (although I'm not really kidding) or explain myself further, he laid down,. Ah, as a parent, I'd be very disappointed.". Say my love...

Expanding: gypsy vine
http://itsastretch.blogspot.com/2012/04/gypsy-vine.html
Monday, April 2, 2012. Playing around with the idea for naming a travel blog covering time in Europe/ working for the new guiding company. I kind of don't like the word "gypsy." Not because it has negative connotations, but because it feels a little overused and therefore trite. But I do like the idea of a vine being rooted and trained in a certain way, while still wandering. Not sure. The website is available though. May 4, 2012 at 11:41 PM. Some concepts are best re-washed and re-folded | ideas that taste good

Ideas that taste good. Some concepts are best re-washed and re-folded. Opposites argue. They yell at each other without truly listening. It’s the point and counterpoint comedy of Saturday Night Live’s classic Weekend Update. We laugh at Jane Curtin and Dan Aykroyd. Because the lampoon reveals satire in our own lives. However complements don’t yell. Crab, avocado, radish toast from Launderette. Brick chicken over mashed potatoes at Launderette. Now, the noise of tumbling dryers and buzzers is replaced by ...

Saturday, April 21, 2012. Please stay in your seats. Just had one of the scariest moments of my life on an airplane. Should’ve known better. All signs pointed to “No”. The plane was late because of bad weather in New Orleans and when we got aboard, the front stewardess took a very serious tone with describing the safety features, telling us twice to buckle our seatbelts tightly. I loosened mine after take-off and fell over on my left side to sleep. I haven’t been feeling well. I knew I was safer back in ...

http://itsastretch.blogspot.com/2012/05/where-i-want-to-be-ke-mana.html
Friday, May 4, 2012. Where I want to be/ ke mana. In Indonesia, and Bali in specifically, there is often asked two questions:. Where are you coming from? And where are you going? When I first visited, it drove me crazy and made me worried that the men on the street corners were interested in stalking me with the coordinates. Such is the nature of solo-girl traveling and I would give rude replies, much to their befuddlement. Then, slowly, I learned that this was a question like "How are you? Fielding comp...

Thursday, February 24, 2011. Balls in the air. I've put too many up there again. Just not this talented of a juggler, nor do enough hours exist in the day:. 1) work (enough to pay bills and save). 4) cardio/ working out. 5) self-education on wine. 6) project on wine for presentation in June. 8) keeping up with friends. 10) keeping things somewhat clean/ brushing my teeth, cleaning the cat box etc. Creative, I know). Going to give that one a shot. Another letter to a girl. There's a lovely part where her ...

http://itsastretch.blogspot.com/2015/02/invinity-because-wine-has-its-own.html
Friday, February 20, 2015. Invinity- because wine has its own infinity. 8220;’Humor can be dissected, as a frog can be,’ E.B. White once wrote, “but the thing dies in the process and the innards are discouraging to any but the pure scientific mind.’”- William Zinsser, On Writing Well. I feel similarly about wine, both in its description and in its chemical makeup. But second part first. Which leads me to my first point. I want more of that. And I want wines that pull me out of my seat and send me aro...
