LETTER FROM THE EDITOR. June 2, 2015. Even with no snow on the course, nothing could have prevented Bellinghamsters from celebrating the 2015 Ski to Sea relay race over Memorial Day weekend. The race became a tradition in 1973 and now attracts competitors from all over the world. This year’s race consisted of two running legs, three biking legs, a canoeing leg, and a kayaking leg, totaling 101 miles. Over 300 teams participated in the race, with each team consisting of eight people. Photos by Meg Jackson.

Bike to work and school day is May 20. There will be several stations around Bellingham that will provide water and snacks to the community who are biking to work or school. Biking for transportation is good for person, community, environmental health AND personal economic health! Rain or shine, it feels great!
