On my new site. (Kinda.). I’ve been stiching together the pieces of a site redux. 8212; from PHP. In 2005, to Rails in 2009. Of course I’m not just switching frameworks for the hell of it; I’m adding features in the rewrite. Anyway, the site includes a state map that shows dynamically updated information by county. Should have db columns: Really, Shoulda? Should have db columns. Just boggles the mind, really, how anyone could write a test suite that wouldn’t fail somewhere along the line if they left out some database columns. If your tests are that bad, maybe ya shoulda written better tests to start with. You know, instead of adding a one-liner to see if you actually added the column. Or, how about a metaphor.
