“Cloak People” -Secrets Unveiled | whatsleftnow.com

Politics, Humor and Life at Harding. Posted by: Andrew W. English. February 28, 2009. 8220;Cloak People” -Secrets Unveiled. This story was orignally written for The Bison, Harding’s official newspaper by Kayla Studivan. WLN would like to thank her for allowing us the use of this article. Although these people resemble the ones found on Harding Universities campus, they are indeed not the same individuals. A cloak is a loose outer garment that covers or conceals. Meanwhile, a cape is a sleeveless garm...

Politics, Humor and Life at Harding. Posted by: Andrew W. English. February 20, 2009. There’s been an outbreak of bank robberies by two women known as the “Barbie Bandits”. And they’ve recently been caught. Go crime-fighting! Detective McGruff probably had something to do with their capture. Anyways, the highlights of the cnn article says that women tend to be more practical planning bank theives. What? I would also wear gloves. Batman and Existence | whatsleftnow.com
https://whatsleftnow.wordpress.com/2009/03/08/batman-and-existence
Politics, Humor and Life at Harding. Posted by: Andrew W. English. March 8, 2009. Batman is known to many as a hero of vigilante justice. Scarred as a young child only to exemplify one of the most prominent citizens of a mythical metropolis that can not only endure a punch, poison gas, but the loneliness of a hero. At it’s core and superficially, details the battle between the innate good or evil emanating from the human spirit. Do people do the right thing when pressured to their last breaths? Not at al...

Politics, Humor and Life at Harding. Posted by: Andrew W. English. February 9, 2009. Got Money fer Books? I’m pretty sure everyone has been watching the news about this thing they call a stimulus bill. As a political science and economics major, I have no idea what that is, but I read some of it. (I’m a nerd who couldn’t sleep) And as a student, I kind of wanted to know how this thing would affect me, Joe the student. I don’t know why anyone would read the blue book in the picture. I thought it...You are...

the anxiety of influence: May 2008
http://theanxietyofinfluence.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
The anxiety of influence. Since this is Thursday and I'm trying to slowly get back into a groove of regular writing, I'm supposed to write about something music related. I don't have much to say about them, but I'm really enjoying the band We Are Scientists. As of late. I heard their song, "Let's See It," on WXPN and it was immediate wonder. Give them a listen, let's hope you'll like it. On to bigger and better news. Links to this post. The Buddha of Suburbia. The Buddha of Suburbia. Anyway, I've been a ...

The anxiety of influence. John McCain has unrolled a new feature on his website: Pork Invaders! Hearkening back to the early days of video games (and John McCain's middle-age years), this game allows the players to assume to role of 'maverick' and shoot down dastardly pork barrel spending projects designed to fund roads and schools and other intergalactic war worthy tragedies. John McCain, unrelenting in his efforts to stay on top of his technological game. Links to this post. Neither refused the meeting...

the anxiety of influence: Graduate Study Lounge
http://theanxietyofinfluence.blogspot.com/2008/11/graduate-study-lounge.html
The anxiety of influence. What brought me to write this post is the way students refuse to share the room. There are over one thousand graduate students at West Chester University and, based on a terribly unscientific poll, only a small portion of those students are aware that the graduate study lounge exists. I trust this is the case because those that know about it guard the secret of it like a middle school crush. I may never understand people but at least they're fun to watch. View my complete profile.

The anxiety of influence. Treasury Secretary of Fight Club? Whenever stories mention the name of Henry Paulson, the current U.S. Treasury Secretary who is begging Congress to bail out our free market, I can't help but thing of Meat Loaf in the film Fight Club. I am fully aware that they are not at all related and that Robert Paulson is, indeed, a character of fiction from the mind if Chuck Palahniuk, but I can't shake the link in my mind. http://theanxietyofinfluence.blogspot.com/2008/11/revelation.html
The anxiety of influence. My scholarly interests are pretty varied. Right now, I imagine that my focus is late-20th century American literature. It's where I feel most at home but that's not to say that I don't want to branch out. I have a great deal of interest in postcolonial studies, African American literature, and gender studies but I worry that I will be unable to contribute in these other fields because I am so terribly regular. So for now, I'm off to class. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The anxiety of influence. My life on paper. Sanctioned day planner that would inevitably go to waste. This academic year- the second and third semester of my M.A.- has uncovered an Ian that is fully capable of keeping a day planner. Not only do I keep my work and class schedule, I also faithfully record upcoming projects, reading schedules, planned meetings with fellow students, and even long-term project steps. I attribute this newfound. Weekly planner- horizontal layout. Beyond the quotidian (ha!

The anxiety of influence. When what to my wondering eyes should appear but the lights of vengeance flashing in my rear-view mirror. The officer of the law sped past my paltry Kia in pursuit of the traffic offender. Passing the truck now stopped on the shoulder in front of the flashing lights, only one word comes to my lips:. What's Left List
It may seem like all the world's big metaphorical mountains have been climbed. Luckily for you they haven't. These are still left:. Land a craft on the moon. Break a Land Speed Record. Find a really big Prime Number. Show evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event. Compress a bunch of data. Be really good at Recommending Movies. Build part of a Space Elevator. Create a 100 mpg Car. Add something to the list.

What's Left of Me Is Yours to Keep
What's Left of Me Is Yours to Keep. You are so beautiful in context. Everything about you screams to be loved and adored and cherished. The way your accent caresses your words is deceivingly charming and your smile could melt even the coldest of hearts. But your words and thoughts and ideas don’t translate into your actions. It’s disappointing. You could be everything, but you doubt yourself. You could be everything, but you’re not. Ldquo; Is there something you want to tell me? Ldquo; How did you know?
