YogaNan knits, too. There was an error in this gadget. Sunday, February 7, 2010. Core work pays off! So, this is when over a year of Pilates. Classes and core work in my own yoga practice pays off. It really helps when getting up and down off the couch when you know that placing your left foot on the floor will cause one to scream and scare the! Day #3 on the couch: more knitting, a little TV/ DVR. Pizzas from our favorite Crystal Lake restaurant/bakery, Le Petit. By dear daughter Maja. Has been so swamp...

YogaNan knits, too...: April 2011

YogaNan knits, too. There was an error in this gadget. Monday, April 18, 2011. When life throws me curveballs, I have several options:. Buy file folders, baskets, bags. Cast on something complicated enough to hold my interest, but not so much that I end up crazed. So I did all three, and here's the knitting, in progress. Top one is Lattuga (Ravelry link). Middle one is Vortex Shawl (another Rav link). And the lovely blue garter (I do love garter! Is Corrine (Rav again! YogaNan knits, too. How did you get...

YogaNan knits, too...: Summer Fun!
http://yogananknitstoo.blogspot.com/2010/07/summer-fun.html
YogaNan knits, too. There was an error in this gadget. Friday, July 2, 2010. Ah, summer in the Midwest. There's been a dearth of fireflies so far, and way too many mosquitoes. Also, too much humidity. But for the last few days, pure bliss- cooler days, low humidity, really nice weather for being active outside. And no bugs! What else do I love about summer here? Long days of light, time enough for a early-evening bike ride on nights when we're not busy. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies! YogaNan knits, too.

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter: May 2013
http://alwayswantstobequilting.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Thoughts from a disorganized quilter. Friday, May 31, 2013. How did it get be May 31st already? I have been sewing some - not nearly as much as I would like of course. One of first finishes of the year was the scrappy trip quilt. I love how this quilt turned out! It now lives on our couch and gets used daily. Sorry for the bad picture - but blurry is what happens with two wiggly quilt holders! I definitely see another one of these in my future . Thanks, Bonnie, for another great pattern! 2 - Orphan Blocks.

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter: June 2013

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter. Saturday, June 29, 2013. I finished up the binding on Maddie's quilt today. It never takes as long as I am dreading that it will. I've got the label printed up and am waiting for it to dry before I sew it on. Maddie is looking forward to giving it to her friend tomorrow morning. The quilting always ends up being much denser than I imagined - but Maddie was thrilled with it - so I'm happy! Looking forward to getting to do some of my own sewing next week! She pieced th...

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter: July 2012

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter. Saturday, July 21, 2012. July has sped by at lightening speed. We have one more month of summer break left and we intend to make the most of it! We have a couple of trips left and then 10 days at home to recover and get ready for the school year. I have managed to get some sewing done in the few quiet moments. This month's UFO was the 2011 birthday group blocks. I love these blocks! Done all in greens - and flying geese! The block was the 12th block in a year long se...

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter: July 2013

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter. Saturday, July 06, 2013. This week has been lovely - lots of rain (which we desperately need) so no reason to go out and about. I felt like I had some sort of attention disorder because I didn't want to work on anything for too long. Back in January I bought myself a fat quarter pack of Tula Pink's Salt Water fabric, thinking it would be enough for a lap quilt. Not quite! I love the dark blue fabric with the sea shells! Do you think she would let me keep it? 6 - Bonn...

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter: September 2012
http://alwayswantstobequilting.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Thoughts from a disorganized quilter. Monday, September 24, 2012. I have a small USPS flat rate box filled with scraps from Denyse Schmidt's fabrics from JoAnn's. Most pieces are bigger than 2 inches - but this is what remains from 2 quilts and cutting 3.5" squares for a third quilt. These pieces would be great for crumb blocks ala Bonnie Hunter. First one to speak up gets them! Tuesday, September 04, 2012. Wanted Baptist fans. Was I brave enough to try them free-hand? Sunday, September 02, 2012. I love ...

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter: February 2012
http://alwayswantstobequilting.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Thoughts from a disorganized quilter. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Just in the nick of time, I made myself finish my February UFO. It has been quilted for over a week - but since I hate do bindings, it sat here, taunting me as the end of the month drew closer! To start the month, the top needed the final borders and then the quilting. As I was putting on the binding this morning, I got around to the fourth side and discovered this little problem! Somewhere my math went awry! Saturday, February 04, 2012.
