Housers 4 Uganda: Update (Finally!)
http://housers4uganda.blogspot.com/2013/04/update-finally.html
Wednesday, April 17, 2013. It's been quite a while since we last posted, and we're very sorry about that. But the Lord's been at work and we have lots to catch up on. My dad has been enjoying retirement and the ministry opportunities that have opened up to him. He has been doing PR work for Family Life, our local Christian radio station. And my mom has been busy keeping the kitchens at our local school running smoothly. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Local time in Uganda.

On Eagle's Wings: July 2014
http://ivinsupdate.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 17, 2014. Philippines - Open Team - Day 7. Last night I encouraged the team to stay in bed as long as they could this morning. The team is getting tired in the afternoons, and much of that is because we are sleeping less than favorably. Since we don’t have power, we opened the windows, and without the ambient noise of the fan and the air conditioner, the outside sounds surrounded us. This made sleeping a little more difficult, but nonetheless, we got a good night’s sleep. Some had spaghett...

Friday, April 25, 2014. Easton Baptist Church - Guatemala Trip - Day 6. The final day of ministry at Las Vistas today, and we began the day looking at Philippians 2:1-11, where we are challenged to have the same mind as Jesus Christ – the mind of a servant. After breakfast we headed to CAG (the Christian School here) to go to their chapel for Spiritual Emphasis Week. They were doing a study on the book of Jonah. We were thrilled to hear that one of the students had accepted Christ yesterday. It was a ver...

On Eagle's Wings: September 2013
http://ivinsupdate.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 18, 2013. What would you do? You decide one night to get a movie at Redbox, and when you get there you find a wallet. What do you do? The following is a story that a friend told me yesterday, and I cannot help but share it with others. Let me pause for a minute - if this were you, what would be your next steps? What are you feeling inside? As John related this story to me, I started getting images in my head as to how the rest of the story plays out - and boy was it exciting! John an...

On Eagle's Wings: October 2014

Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Silverdale Baptist - Peru Trip - Day 5. Today is Harrison’s birthday, and it started with a bang. He and Terry went for a 5 mile jog. Harrison seemed a little tired this morning, but I didn’t know just how bad it was until he returned. Eventually he told me that he was feeling bad enough that he didn’t even go to the center. He stayed at the Hetzel’s house all day – Krista said he slept 6 hours. It doesn’t seem to last long, but – long enough to be annoying. Then I asked the k...

Thursday, April 23, 2015. NEBC - Guatemala Trip - Day 5. Today is our second full day of ministry at the camp, and we have a bunch of things planned for today. We started the day the usual way – breakfast followed by devotions, today we talked about the life of Joseph. We were challenged to see the difficulties of life through the lens of the sovereignty of God like Joseph did. We worked all morning until it was time to swim. Then we had a blast playing in the pool with the kids. I told the kids that I w...

On Eagle's Wings: NEBC - Guatemala Trip - Day 3
http://ivinsupdate.blogspot.com/2015/04/nebc-guatemala-trip-day-3.html
Tuesday, April 21, 2015. NEBC - Guatemala Trip - Day 3. Today is our first full day at the camp, and you can tell that the team is excited about the kids coming today. We began the day with breakfast followed by our devotional time in Hebrews. We are walking through the 11. Chapter this week and looking at heroes of faith in the Old Testament. I am amazed at the people that were chosen for this chapter, and the things that were highlighted about their lives. It was fun, but very funny to watch. Some high...
