Carnegie Tech Radio Club. What is Amateur Radio? The Carnegie Tech Radio Club (also known by our FCC-issued callsign, W3VC) is a student organization at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We've been around since 1914 and had a few different callsigns over the years, including W8NKI and W3NKI. The answer is usually "Yes, but perhaps not the one you were thinking of!

Carnegie Tech Radio Club. What is Amateur Radio? The primary club repeater is a Motorola Quantar covering the Pittsburgh area. This is normally crosslinked with the VHF repeater. Mixed: FM Analog and P25. This repeater uses a Motorola Spectra as the transmitter and a Motorola Radius M10 as the receiver. This repeater is an MSF 5000 being hosted by the club for a local Amateur. (Currently Disabled.).
