Fights Like A Girl: What's a hysterectomy?
http://hbocuninformed.blogspot.com/2016/11/whats-hysterectomy.html
Fights Like A Girl. The "before cancer" blog posts. Wednesday, 16 November 2016. On Monday last week I had a hysterectomy! Since finding out my surgery date a few weeks ago I've done a fair bit of googling and asking questions on a hysterectomy forum to find out everything I need to know. I'm going to write up a few posts collating what I learned in case it's helpful to anyone else. I have had a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy (TAH) with Bilateral Salpingo Oopherectomy (BSO). I have never had any other heal...

Camping on the Wildside: Wharram Percy Walk
http://campingonthewildside.blogspot.com/2012/03/wharram-percy-walk.html
Camping on the Wildside. Thursday, 15 March 2012. Not quite the morning I'd hoped for when thinking of taking a wander over to Wharram Percy, the deserted medieval village not far from here. The fog was pretty thick, so it was dank and cold as I made my way to my walk. The spot you start the walk down to the village has this information board to give an overview of where you're going. It's just shy of seventy miles, so he was fair motoring! I was much more leisurely. A couple of bracket fungi and some Li...

jACKrABBIT: Jack's Apple and Blackberry Crumble
http://jackrabbitinfo.blogspot.com/2013/01/jacks-apple-and-blackberry-crumble.html
Thursday, 24 January 2013. Jack's Apple and Blackberry Crumble. Jack is my 14 year old son, he learnt this recipe at school, but makes it all the time at home, and it always turns out very tasty (apart from when he forgot to put the sugar in), so it is a good recipe for both adults and children to try. It's great in the autumn when we go out picking fresh blackberries, and our neighbour gives us cooking apples from their tree. 1) Pre-set the oven to gas 4, 180C, 350F. 5) Add the sugar and oats and repeat.

Camping on the Wildside: Clan of the Burger Burners Pocklington Paddle
http://campingonthewildside.blogspot.com/2013/02/clan-of-burger-burners-pocklington.html
Camping on the Wildside. Thursday, 14 February 2013. Clan of the Burger Burners Pocklington Paddle. Well, what can I say, we tried but failed to get the hammocks out and play in the woods last weekend. So, to salvage the weekend passes so graciously granted by our better halves, an impromptue paddle on the canal was arranged. Now, my companions did express concern over my well-being but I'd hoped, at least for a score of five or more for my attempted backwards somersalt! Rich paddled Joel's Apache all th...
