Will and Rosa in Asia. Tuesday, 22 June 2010. We got an upgrade to business class, and flew to Kuala Lumpur in a thunderstorm. Arriving in KL from Nepal was like travelling forward in time. Malaysia's trains, skyscrapers and clean, wide streets were a real shock after Kathmandu's open sewers and crumbling, low rise concrete buildings. A sunlounger, Gili Meno. Horse carts, Gili Air. Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Things to do in Japan: Shinkansen, Miyajima, Hiroshima. We traveled by Shinkansen on Labor Day weekend with family friends, Tamsen and John, to visit Miyajima and Hiroshima. The Shinkansen is Japan's famous "bullet train" with row seating similar to an aircraft, travels just as fast, and has ample foot and reclining space. Breakfast before Bullet Train. We're going on a trip on our favorite bullet train, Bella and Evan, on the Shinkansen. Catching a Ferry to Miyajima Island.
