The stud today comprises of 320 cows. 70 of these comprise of heifers calving at 2 years old. The females are all run as in a commercial cattle operation. The cows all winter on the hill with no supplementary feed. The weaner heifers are all wintered on young grass behind an electric wire with some baleage to enable them to hit their spring mating target weights of 320 - 360kgs.
