Off Course Phalarope: June 2012
http://offcoursephalarope.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 27 June 2012. Cragg Vale Fell Race. What a cracking little race. I got stuck in traffic on the way and thought I was going to miss it. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. A mix of tarmac, trails, trods and tussocky bogs and a great downhill finish.and it didn't rain! I managed to get a dip in the river after and the the tea and cakes hit the spot nicely. What a shame I forgot to apply my midge cream; I have an array of red splotches that are going to drive me crazy over the next few days! The first...

http://offcoursephalarope.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, 12 October 2014. Mr and Mrs 3rd May 2014. At 3pm on 3rd May 2014 Andrew and I tied the knot in St Peters Church Addingham. It was a beautiful sunny day and one we'll remember forever. We had a fancy dress wedding day fell race in the morning 'Fells and Bells'. Many of our friends came along and most dressed up:. The lasses ran clockwise and the lads ran anti clockwise, and Andrew and I met at the Beacon half way round. It was a huge amount of fun and the beer and feast went down a treat! The firs...

Monday, 29 July 2013. THE BOB GRAHAM ROUND - General Round up, thank you's and a nod to rice pudding. Well it’s taken me a while to get round to writing this last part of my BG report, but better late than never! Now that I’ve had time to reflect and the reality of a successful round has properly sunk in, I know more than ever that l had a very special experience and one I’ll never forget. I was so tired and focused by then I cannot recall seeing her there. Ambrosia at Dunmail Raise. I had sat down on th...

Off Course Phalarope: September 2011
http://offcoursephalarope.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, 25 September 2011. Something different for a change! Having been off the scene for a while due to health issues (more about that another time) I decided a visit to the local Donkey Sanctuary. Would be of benefit. I've been staying with my parents in Devon whilst recuperating and Andrew has come down for a visit and to take me up to Yorkshire to continue my recovery there. Donkeys are such gentle peaceful animals, and contact with them has a really soothing effect for anyone that feels in need of ...

Off Course Phalarope: June 2011

Friday, 3 June 2011. BGR 27th May Part 3 (final). Andrew had everything ready, tea, soup, cous cous, hot dog, and my box with spare rations and medical supplies. Someone massaged deep heat into my aching anterior tibialis, both legs (Who was it please? Thank you, it worked). This muscle is prone to tightening, I think due to stiffness in my ankles, which has been the cause of shin splints for me in the past. How was it that I forgot my food? It was right there with the tea and soup. Idiot girl! 8217; The...
