Infamy and Misfortune: May 2011
http://jasonkorolenko.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 27, 2011. Where are my laurels? Who stole my laurels? No matter, there will be no rest on this end for some time. After speaking with the guys in the band, and polling fans and friends all over the world, I've decided to move ahead with the Sepultura biography. I've received a ton of positive feedback for this project. Big thanks to Sepultura. And everyone else who has expressed their support. And while you're here, check out the new Sepultura song, Kairos. Alright. Now, let's get to work!

Infamy and Misfortune: June 2011
http://jasonkorolenko.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Sometime during my latest residency with Southern New Hampshire University's MFA program, my good friend Rob Greene offered up a writing prompt he uses in his English classes. He gave me a blank page, opening line at the top, closing line at the bottom, and left me to fill in the rest. It's a fun little exercise that can pull the brain out of self-imposed ruts and drop it into different grooves. I reached over and calmly gouged out his left eye. Apron a canvass covered in red.

Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Sepultura Returns to North America. Please visit www.jasonkorolenko.com. Sepultura is back in the US! In the meantime, enjoy this article by my friend Emanuel, who spoke with guitarist Andreas Kisser (and myself) about the tour. Read the original, Portuguese version on Emanuel's blog HERE. Or the English translation I've provided below. Sepultura was the fir...

Infamy and Misfortune: April 2011
http://jasonkorolenko.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 27, 2011. You have to work. To make those dreams a reality. I have been a fan of Sepultura, a Brazilian heavy metal group, for over twenty years now. In 1993, when I was in high school, my band would play Dead Embryonic Cells. So, thanks to Paulo, Jean, Andreas, and Derrick for listening to a fanboy's dream, and for an amazing show. And double-thanks to Jean for the drumstick. Posted by Jason Korolenko. Monday, April 4, 2011. Is There A Point To All This? In Why I Write. A collection of ...

Infamy and Misfortune: Yeah, I'm a Sell-Out. So What?
http://jasonkorolenko.blogspot.com/2012/03/yeah-im-sell-out-so-what.html
Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Yeah, I'm a Sell-Out. So What? A week or so ago, author Brian Keene. Wrote something that I've been thinking about a lot lately. At the Horror Drive-In forums. Regarding the rise of digital piracy and the glut of Kindle e-books that are either FREE or priced at 99 CENTS, Brian wrote:. We are training an entire generation of readers and consumers to expect the book for free, or next to nothing. I can't feed my sons on free or next to nothing.". Writing is hard work. Like any o...

Infamy and Misfortune: September 2011
http://jasonkorolenko.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 26, 2011. Most writers I know like to analyze every little thing they do, almost to the point of mania. We stress over whether to use the word insensitive. And how either choice might alter the sentence in which it is used. For me, this goes beyond the writing itself, and applies to the process. So much that it becomes practically obsessive-compulsive. Two mangos, I will write. Meanwhile, the only words getting written are on my grocery list. No, I think I'll stick with narcissistic.
