EMAIL, SPAM PREVENTION and DELIVERABILITY • SINCE 2001. 1,072,835 Page views! I registered the domain spamresource.com on December 31, 2000 and in the year 2001 first used it as a platform to publish my thoughts and opinions on spam-related topics. Hand coding the HTML all along the way). In August 2006, I moved Spam Resource over to Google's Blogger platform (and was able to transition many of the prior posts. Over, to keep a good sense of history going). Sunday, July 12, 2015. I've been working on emai...

Word to the Wise Labs. Writing documentation on OS X. Just some notes I've made while creating documentation for Abacus. I'm developing the documentation primarily on OS X using MultiMarkdown, targeting Qt Assistant style HTML as well as web-hosted HTML. The native Cocoa build looks much better on HiDPI displays than the X11 build I was using before. Combined with this tiny shell script. To edit files from the commandline it's at least as usable as TextMate or Chocolat for non-code editing. For taking an...

Fast QA database population - Word to the Wise Labs

Word to the Wise Labs. Fast Postgresql QA database population. We do a lot of testing - manual and automated, unit and functional - and most of our apps tend to use Postgresql. That means we want to reset the database back to a known state before every test. The obvious approach is to run a SQL script that drops and recreates all objects in the database. That works OK, but it's a little slow and it makes managing all the production objects, plus any mock or test data needed for tests annoying. You can ru...

Word to the Wise Labs. Powertiny is a simple script to push all the dns zones published by a powerdns. Server to one or more tinydns. It works by connecting to the local powerdns database to retrieve a list of published zones. For each zone it uses axfrdns. To retrieve a copy of the zone in tinydns format. It then compiles them into a single cdb database file suitable for tinydns and uses scp to copy that to each slave server. It's configured by editing the script. The main prerequisites are.
