Thoughts on the Christian journey, music, church and anything else that seems interesting at the time. Saturday, 18 October 2014. Stepping Out: Daring to follow God's call. By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. Hebrews 11v8. God did give Abraham some hefty promises for him to hold on to, including this one:. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to th...

AndyJohnSmith.com: Courage (poem)
http://www.andyjohnsmith.com/2014/01/ok-heres-something-fresh-i-been.html
Thoughts on the Christian journey, music, church and anything else that seems interesting at the time. Sunday, 26 January 2014. OK Here's something fresh, I've been thinking a lot about courage in facing up to the difficult stuff that we go through. Sometimes it seems what we must confront are the things we have learned to live with. Today I clothe you. To bear the unbearable. To face the unfaceable. To stare into that dragon’s eye. Sacred agents of light. Guarding your every move. Today I call you.

Thoughts on the Christian journey, music, church and anything else that seems interesting at the time. Wednesday, 30 October 2013. Abba: The Father Heart of God. The concept of being God's "beloved child" is one that had taken me a few years to embrace. Thinking about it touches me in a very deep place and has me close to tears. It's a message that my natural mind raises all sorts of objections to: Me? In fact God is. Ps 103v10-12) when I am truly repentant. David continues (Psalm 103 vs 13-14). The Spir...

Thoughts on the Christian journey, music, church and anything else that seems interesting at the time. Saturday, 28 December 2013. Incomplete, that's me (poem). We're all a work in progress.much as we don't always want to admit it. Man in the making. Like the finest wine. When it comes of age. There’s a rich bouquet. Face in the ground. My only Hope is. Joy in my journey. Posted by Andy John Smith. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Creative, Insightful, Entrepreneurial, Composer. God's work of art.

Thoughts on the Christian journey, music, church and anything else that seems interesting at the time. Thursday, 24 October 2013. I need to hear your voice God. Here's a little poem I wrote in one of those seasons when it seemed like God was playing hard to get. I Need to Hear Your Voice God. Sometimes you speak through your megaphone. Deafening over all distractions. But now silence, nothing. Shut down for the season. I need to hear your voice God. Sometimes it’s like every page is shouting me.

AndyJohnSmith.com: John's Wesley's New Year Covenant Prayer
http://www.andyjohnsmith.com/2014/01/johns-wesleys-new-year-covenant-prayer.html
Thoughts on the Christian journey, music, church and anything else that seems interesting at the time. Wednesday, 1 January 2014. John's Wesley's New Year Covenant Prayer. I love this prayer that Methodists use in their annual Covenant Service, often on the first Sunday of the new year. It's a dangerous discipleship prayer which Wesley wrote to help his people open themselves up to God more fully and to respond to challenge of following Him. Put me to doing, put me to suffering;. Put me to what you will,.
